The Vectrex was a unique idea upon its release in 1982: a gaming console based entirely on vector graphics, made more distinctive in that it had an integrated monitor rather than requiring a TV as other consoles did.

Despite numerous selling points, critical acclaim, solid game library, and being released in the US, Europe, and Japan, the system never really gained much of a foothold (the US video game crash not helping matters) and was discontinued in 1984.
