Dummied Robots

While Banpresto and Mobile Suit Gundam producer Sunrise are both subsidiaries of Bandai Namco, the Huckebein series of original machines have long been a point of contention due to being nearly identical to Gundams in appearance. After being omitted from both of the anime series based off the games, the decision was made to eliminate the Huckebeins permanently as part of the storyline of this game.

While map models and sets of battle sprites for all three machines in the line exist, the only battle sprite displayed during the course of the game is that of the Huckebein Mark II, as the others are destroyed in map events. Because this game heavily reuses animation choreography and voice banks from Super Robot Taisen Original Generations and Original Generation Gaiden, several of the attacks of all three machines are usable, and most pilots will have lines for using the signature weapons that still have animations. None of the machines possess functional finishing moves, and sprites for the alternate forms of the Huckebein Mark III do not exist.

The Neo Granzon's appears briefly as a map model during a cutscene that recreates the finale of the previous game, Original Generation Gaiden, but has no battle sprite or animations attached. The Neo Granzon was later recreated in full for the DLC game Dai 2 Ji Super Robot Taisen OG: Dark Prison. Because the two games run on the same engine, it is possible to patch the Neo Granzon and the other exclusive machines from Dark Prison into the data of the main game via hacking.

A set of battle sprites for the battleship Shirogane are in the game's files, but never used due to the Shirogane never appearing in the game.
