I can upload an image with the ring locations added, and the colours changed to how the level appears in-game, if someone agrees. Maybe the background should be transparent, though that would show up as white on the page anyway, and I'd have to use the Sonic Rush Adventure ring sprites (which may be identical anyway). Hm, the admin removed it...probably just provide a link to it for now. WhoIAm (talk) 18:59, 2 December 2014 (EST)
I wonder why einstein95 removed it, I will ask on his talk page. --Hiccup (talk) 03:52, 3 December 2014 (EST)
I don't think there was a reason, or he doesn't want me to know it. --Hiccup (talk) 06:47, 3 December 2014 (EST)
Since no one has linked to them or even cited the rule, here are the Image guidelines for uploading images. According to the Screenshots section, the sixth rule is "Don't alter the screenshot." Granted, without Einstein95's confirmation, I can only assume that this is the issue through ruling out what it cannot be; Rules 1 is about images taken from videos, Rules 3, and 4 do not apply as there are for resolutions above the DS, and Rules 2 and 5 do not apply since the resolution/dimensions have remained 448 × 576 and they have not been cropped. Not to mention that you used paint.net to adjust to how the level was presented in-game if I am inferring the description correctly. As a suggestion, we could perhaps make Hiccup's image into a separate image as part of Category:Mockup images to retain both images or we could go through the Okamiden way for the Envoy Scrolls and specifically note that it is a Mockup and what the file would normally contain. (In this case, the lack of rings apparently) Either way, I hope this message help for this issue. --Sgv Sth (talk) 00:37, 4 December 2014 (EST)
"Don't alter the screenshot" does not apply to things like level maps that may not be reproducible without altering or combining a bunch of screenshots. This is yet another thing that our rules don't adequately address. Generally, level maps should accurately represent how a level would actually appear in-game (minus superfluous elements like backgrounds), though there need to be exceptions for levels that either don't render properly or don't work in the final game at all (e.g. really old leftovers in older data formats). In these cases, mockups are best, so long as they're not making blatant guesses as to how things might have looked. --BMF54123 (talk) 00:47, 4 December 2014 (EST)
So then, I take it that as long as this is an accurate representation of the level in question, then everything is potentially ok with regard to how the image process works? --Sgv Sth (talk) 04:45, 4 December 2014 (EST)
