So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.

General

August 22 and 29, 1994 Prototypes JP Final and September 5, 1994 Prototype Europe/U.S. Final

The "Virtua Racing" announcer was changed quite a bit between versions.

The opening is missing a backing track in the two earliest prototypes, making the title song sound like it's looping.

General Differences

  • The Sega logo simply plays the "SEEEGAAA" sound.
  • The opening tune plays without any change in melody.
  • Options menu is not accessible.
  • The header has "Virtua Racing" instead of "V.R.DX".
  • The "Virtua Racing" sound does not play upon pressing Start.
  • Both High Land and Sand Park use High Land's music track.
  • High Land and Sand Park are both missing course map pictures on the bottom of the course selection screen.

Sand Park has a much more orange sand color. The SEGA text inscribed in the grass is missing in the prototype, and the concrete on the right has a smoother angle.

  • High Land now plays 2P Race music, but Sand Park still has High Land music.
