Prototype

There's a prototype: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jn5E8ZtzyQU.

I also found it on eBay for £32.99 at http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mario-Kart-7-Demo-Version-Nintendo-3DS-Not-For-Resale-NFR-Demo-Kiosk-/170878892029?pt=UK_PC_Video_Games_Video_Games_JS&hash=item27c92cf7fd. There's only an EU version, not a North American one.--luigi442wii

I have spoken to UltimatePisman and ...whoever made the video? I get the impression that from the outside (as in playing the game), it does not appear to be anything more than an post-release demo. --Hiccup (talk) 11:49, 21 June 2014 (EDT)

Keep this page?

This game hasn't been dumped (Well, it has. But can't be opened yet.),should we keep this page? --Dr. Yay 20:31, 15 June 2013 (EDT)

Why would you want to get rid of this page?--ICEknight 20:54, 15 June 2013 (EDT)
He has a point especially as TCRF focuses on content left in the game. However, we have seen the unused item boxes, and that should be enough for now. WhoIAm 21:38, 15 June 2013 (EDT)
Err, regional differences? --Hiccup 14:25, 16 June 2013 (EDT)
What about any unused content in the game? It's impossible to rip all the assets from any 3DS games. Jiterdomer (talk) 11:01, 29 August 2013 (EDT)
True. If you can find region differences on mariowiki or somewhere. Then I'm sure this can be deleted, unless you count the item boxes. --Hiccup (talk) 11:19, 29 August 2013 (EDT)
That's not a good argument at all. A game doesn't have to have "unused content" or a leaked ROM to be good enough for an article. --AquaBat (talk) 11:44, 29 August 2013 (EDT)
I suppose there is no rule saying that articles have to be long either. --Hiccup (talk) 12:28, 29 August 2013 (EDT)

3DS Decompressor and File Extractor

I've found a program called 3DS_CTR_Decryptor-VOiD. I didn't read the article so much, but as far as I know, you need to have to Gateway in order to extract files. --NewSuperMoiWii (talk) 07:54, 7 September 2014 (EDT)

"Unused" Mario Circuit?

MarioCircuit_Divide MarioCircuit

(old revision for reference)

This reeks of speculation, and I'm removing it from the article until we can verify that it is indeed an unused track. Given the filename ("divide"?) and the collision data present in both (note that the "used" version doesn't seem to have defined collision data for the castle, while the "unused" one does), it looks more like they split the data into two files for some reason. It's kind of hard to tell when all we have to go on is some crappy overhead wireframe renders, though. --BMF54123 (talk) 17:37, 27 October 2014 (EDT)

Unused Mario_Circuit_divided have beed added agian, this time, with more information. With the release of EveryFileExplorer, the article can be prooved. Mariohack&glitch 16:50, 1 December 2014

Colored Shy Guys?

Are there more than 2 colored (blue and red) Shy Guys in the game? If not, then I can contribute to the main page hehe. --NewSuperMoiWii (talk) 12:21, 19 November 2014 (EST)

I've seen a screenshot of someone playing as a yellow Shy Guy. I bet you could see all the different colours if you entered some sort of multiplayer match with everyone playing as Shy Guy. What is the maximum amount of people you can get in a local/download/online match? --Hiccup (talk) 15:55, 20 November 2014 (EST)
It's 8. Yeah, maybe the rest of the colors are for the 3th, 4th, 5th, etc person who joined a download match. I never played with more than 2 players in download mode though. --NewSuperMoiWii (talk) 09:15, 22 November 2014 (EST)
Could you not set up a communities called "Shy Guy only"? eventually you might get all players playing as Shy Guy, especilly if you ask them nicely to join outside of the game :P. I can't though, I don't-have/can't-get the game. --Hiccup (talk) 13:34, 22 November 2014 (EST)
Yeah, but every Shy Guy player would have a red color, that's only applied in Local Multiplayer, if I'm correct. --NewSuperMoiWii (talk) 17:34, 2 December 2014 (EST)
Would this help? It looks like it is two of the Shy Guys that you are looking for. --Sgv Sth (talk) 19:32, 2 December 2014 (EST)
I think that this video also contain most of the remaining colors. --Sgv Sth (talk) 19:36, 2 December 2014 (EST)
That's it! Thanks! So, we can confirm that the Shy Guy colors are actually used :P--NewSuperMoiWii (talk) 16:26, 5 December 2014 (EST)

Unusual item box

According to mariohack&glitch, the positions of the items boxes can be fixed by moving them up by 100 'y points' and the CPUs are programmed to be able to get the item boxes. --Hiccup (talk) 14:58, 10 December 2014 (EST)

Icon inconsistencies

On the results screen after a Grand Prix, Shy Guy and Lakitu have different icons than usual. Shy Guy is at a different angle, and Lakitu's mouth is open. Since no other characters share this oddity, I feel like this would be worth pointing out on the article. ShootingStar7X (talk) 19:11, 21 February 2018 (EST)

I can confirm this, the winning result character icons are independent from the rest of the other icons of the game. So the icons in the winning results could be an old (or new) revision. Mariohack&glitch (talk) 00:49, 22 February 2018 (EST)

Battle Theme Frontrunning

I found out that the battle music has an unused front running beat, if you use a track music changer cheat and change the music to the battle music and get into 1st in a 100cc+ race, you can hear the unused front running beats. TheCuttingRoomRoof (talk) 04:14, 28 January 2022 (GMT)

Added! Though we need recordings of these. --B squo (talk) 15:11, 22 March 2022 (UTC)

Rainbow Road Final Section oddity

Seems fast version of Rainbow Road "Moon" is unused. http://smashcustommusic.net/song/45678

It is used. To hear it, cross the 3rd section line, wait until the finish lap fanfare ends, and then drive back to the Moon. --B squo (talk) 21:41, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
