According to Bulbapedia, international B2W2 also fixed the Zoroark bug from the Japanese version. Would this be worth mentioning? Miles of SmashWiki 16:05, 13 October 2012 (EDT)

Yes, it would be worth mentioning, as it does count as regional difference. --From: divingkataetheweirdo 16:08, 13 October 2012 (EDT)

About the unused scenery in N's Castle... I was just there before writing this, and was able to walk to it without a cheat device by walking north of the toppled statue next to the throne room door to cross the first barrier, and on the gold trim of the floor nearest to the bottom of the screen to cross the second barrier. Does it still belong here? Broken Hedgehog 17:20, 10 November 2012 (EST)

Nope. The collision is kinda funky, but if it's not unused, it's not unused. --Afti 22:22, 10 November 2012 (EST)

I just had an idea which I guess could apply to any pokemon game, but I was playing B2W2 when I thought of it. Nurse Joy only ever faces to the front and back, as well as bowing. So does she have sprites for facing sideways? What happens if you walk through walls and try to have your pokemon healed?--TimTamChimchar 05:25, 21 November 2012 (EST)

From what I've seen, after turning to the machine to heal your Pokémon, Nurse Joy turns to the front, no matter where you are. So, she has a side sprite that is used, but no side bowing animation. AquaBat 15:36, 16 January 2013 (EST)

I gotta say

Colress's battle theme is so kick-ass. It's just so calming, and technoish. I might dance to it for the Talent Show at my school's talent show next year :D Chaossy - The Computer Geek 20:47, 12 February 2013 (EST)

That's nice. Please stop using article talk pages as your personal diary. Keep your comments relevant to the article and the focus of the wiki itself. Thanks. --BMF54123 20:51, 12 February 2013 (EST)
Yeah. I kinda got side-tracked a bit. Chaossy - The Computer Geek 20:58, 12 February 2013 (EST)

A minor quirk that I saw

According to Bulbapedia...

"If a Pokémon caught in the Cold Storage is traded to Black 2 or White 2, its status screen will say it was caught at the "PWT"."

Should that be mentioned? As well, the reverse should be able to happen. A Pokémon caught at the PWT (Which is impossible unless hacked) should in theory say it was caught at Cold Storage in BW. (I can test this in my spare time). --Team Fail 03:04, 3 July 2013 (EDT)

Well, it seems more of a location-matchup kind of thing. I'd say (in my humble and completely uneducated opinion) that they overwrote the location data for the Cold Storage with the PWT during the BW->B2W2 transition. In theory, I believe you're right, it would, in fact, claim that a Pokémon caught in the PWT was caught in the Cold Storage in BW. It's kind of like how all the glitch Pokémon change from Red/Blue to Yellow, I suppose. However, I'm not sure whether it should be put in the article or not... --AquaBat 10:48, 3 July 2013 (EDT)
Hatching an egg at the PWT should work, shouldn't it? Yamiidenryuu 11:37, 3 July 2013 (EDT)
Of course. I suppose things like that seem to slip one's mind. So, a simple location overwrite between the two sets of games doesn't exactly seem fit for the article. --AquaBat 11:59, 3 July 2013 (EDT)
I thought it'd be worth mentioning solely because of the fact that Route 10 is in the game, but not "in the game".--Team Fail 13:53, 4 July 2013 (EDT)

Badge Check Gates

What happens if you use walk-through-walls to get to the Badge Check Gates without 8 badges? (In the normal game, you can only go through Giant Chasm once you have 8 badges.)

And does the closed door have collision (you can't reach it without going through the Badge Check Gates normally)? Samario (talk) 13:59, 12 September 2013 (EDT)

Unused 2011 Pokemon Championship data

Converted files for the unused ROM tournaments can be found here, ready to be inserted with an editor:

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/12206225/pporg/devROM%20PWTs.rar

Should this be included on the page?

Goomther (talk) 21:46, 22 September 2013 (EDT)

You could upload the .rar file here, using the category tag Category:Extracted Game Data (don't ask me why we don't have a normal tag for it). Then you can just add the file link on the page, just like any other file. --AquaBat (talk) 22:08, 22 September 2013 (EDT)
Okay, I'll upload it, but I don't know how to category files and such. :/ --Goomther (talk) 23:49, 22 September 2013 (EDT)

Pokestar Studios Stuff

On The Spriters Resource, there are rips of some of the movie effect stuff, like the UFOs and such. There's nothing out of the ordinary in the "parts" rips, but the static images (used for pokedex?) have some goodies. The UFO's image looks like a copy of one of the other UFO drawings with "BOSS" written on it. A number of the other ones are crudely sketched, with the most notable being the red monster looking like Zero from Kirby's Dream Land 3. A few of them look like they originally used different palettes than what the final graphics use, so that is worth looking into, too. --Peardian (talk) 02:38, 12 October 2013 (EDT)

Yes, I've noticed that before. The sprites you mentioned can be seen when the props are in the PC, because I have inserted the UFO in a save file before and the "BOSS" icon appeared in it's place. Since you can't normally obtain the props at any point without hacking, I can clearly say that those are unused.
Also, as a little minor discovery among the props, all of the props have shiny forms. All of the shiny forms are just pitch black over every part, well, that is except the two robots and Smeargle 2. The small robot is a mixture of green and blue that looks slightly unfinished, while the big one has lots of brown spots around it also looking unfinished. Smeargle 2 however, is fully complete. All they did with Smeargle 2 was take the regular Smeargle's shiny form and copy/pasted it for Smeargle 2, but the bowtie is now a bright orange instead of the regular Smeargle 2's red one. --Goomther (talk) 03:47, 12 October 2013 (EDT)
I think the shiny palette thing is just a result of them being used as Pokemon. The fact that the palettes are mostly solid black indicate they could only blank them out instead of removing them completely. It's hardly worth mentioning. As for the Smeargle bow, that's just a result of the sprites using Smeargle's normal palettes. The bow uses the palette colors normally used for Smeargle's tongue. Shiny Smeargle's tongue is orange, thus the orange bow. Again, hardly worth mentioning. --Peardian (talk) 16:48, 12 October 2013 (EDT)
I understand the shiny palettes for most of the props being pitch black isn't worth mentioning, and I guess the Smeargle 2 one as well, but what about the two robots? They are the only two props, besides the copy/paste Smeargle 2, that have shiny palettes that aren't pitch black. Check The Spriters Resource for the palettes, but for some reason, only the parts of the sprite seem to have been ripped, despite being able to see their shiny palettes through hacking.--Goomther (talk) 21:22, 12 October 2013 (EDT)

Plasma Frigate

The Plasma Frigate has two different portions of the lower deck with the cabins depending on which version you're playing. If you use Walk Through Walls codes, you can move to the other side and access the cabins from the other game. Everything normally found in those cabins in the other version can be found there (except for the warps, as only one instance of each warp was programmed), including TM Flamethrower or TM Thunderbolt, also depending on which version you're playing. This allows for two instances of the TM - one on the other, inaccessible side of the lower deck, and one given to you by your rival at Victory Road. Should this be mentioned? --AquaBat (talk) 23:49, 1 March 2014 (EST)

Pokemon following you

This video alleges that there are sprites and code left in the game for most Pokémon to follow you around, like in HG/SS, which can be re-enabled relatively simply and works well for most Pokémon. (Indeed, there is a part where a Pokémon follows you around inside a house.) Any truth to this? If those sprites are left in the ROM and unused, it should be noted here. (talk) 12:59, 26 October 2014 (EDT)

All of the HG/SS overworld Pokemon sprites are used in the Entree forest for represnting old Pokemon transferred to your game from the Dream World. The rest of the new Pokemon sprites are used as decorations or part of story sequences. The video description also implies there's some hacking involved with the NPC following functions to show a new sprite. --BlastProcessing (talk) 13:23, 26 October 2014 (EDT)

Nurse Joy Facing Sideways

Are the sprites for Nurse Joy facing sideways used? I've never seen them used since you can't talk to her from the left. Stomped Goomba (Not a Galoomba) (talk) 12:31, 19 February 2016 (EST)

Virbank City Gym Music

Alright, so, to be honest, when the videos were replaced with .oggs, I didn't actually rip them. Terrible, I know. Anyways, trying to remedy that by actually ripping the music, but I'm running into an odd issue. The songs seems to be missing an instrument completely. This link is to the rip made from the game: https://mega.nz/#!MEBgVLzJ!Dwt4ypseYkbrOVtMH9o5x28rbNf6wI8eCgI0bTjbusE. If anyone knows why this is... Well, you know the drill. --Signed: Vectrex (talk) 20:59, 28 August 2016 (EDT)

The instruments are layered because for each trainer/band member you fight, they stop playing their instrument. I don't know how to fix it when ripping the music, but that's the reason why. --AquaBat (talk) 21:16, 28 August 2016 (EDT)
So the other layers are seperate files? If so, should I just upload what I currently have ripped or would it be better to find the extra sequences and add them back in, then replace the files? Either way, it will still show off the change of lyrics in the two regions, so... --Signed: Vectrex (talk) 21:22, 28 August 2016 (EDT)

The Negative Player Pictures

Those aren't completely unused. They're used when you lose to the monster in Red Fog Of Terror. (You have to defeat it in ten scenes, but defeating it on any less scenes counts as you losing.)
