From the first post (by Herm the Germ) on this page of tSToOK, there's discussion about the sound test and event jingles. This might be interesting to add. {EspyoT} 09:52, 26 February 2012 (EST)

There's apparently some unused voices related to characters getting separated from the team and trying to carry a heavy object. --Lilfut 11:23, 24 August 2012 (EDT)

Odd, I checked this and none of the pages have any comment saying "unused" or anything. I know some team member can get separated, by being stopped by those robots with the beams or whatever, or by being stomped by a weight (Dark's Bullet Station), but there are no special voice clips regarding that. Either you're thinking of something else, or the voice clips are there, but the articles' editors never marked them as unused. {EspyoT} 12:43, 3 September 2012 (EDT)
2 unused voices for sure is the EspyoEspio and Charmy Bee lyrics unmixed with their Team Blast sound. -HsienKo 18:05, 3 September 2012 (EDT)
Oh, I see those. Hah, these are hilarious, I'll upload them tomorrow. Also Lilfut, those "this is heavy" comments are what I mentioned: it's when a heavy press stomps on someone. And I think the "where've you guys been?" comments are the same thing. When a character is smashed and unavailable, you can break the weight, or you can touch a nearby checkpoint, at which point they'll say that comment. Although I'm not actually 100% sure about these, but I'll confirm tomorrow. Aaaand I was just gonna press submit, until I found a few comments which hint to "Omochao gates". *Shudder* I suppose I'll continue checking for unused lines tomorrow. Let me just press submit once and for all here... {EspyoT} 20:33, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

Unused voices

Ok, given the discussion up there, I've decided to check all audio files using these pages from the Sonic Retro Wiki. I'll point down here all voices I don't remember hearing. Though I have the PC version, which I think is one of the glitchiest. Can anyone with the PS2, Xbox, and/or GC version shed some light on some of the voice clips I point out here?

  • Page 1
    • act07_p47_cr: Cream's A-rank like is missing on the PC version. Can someone with another version upload the clip? She says something like "I'm so happy, I wanna tell everyone!"
    • act09_p17_es, act10_p18_ch, act11_p17_vc (page 2): Chaotix' voices during their Team Blast. Charmy's and Vector's are heard during the attack, but there are so many noises that it's impossible to hear their off-key singing correctly. Either way, Espio's is completely cut off by Charmy's, playing for like one second (either that or Espio starts singing way too softly). Even if we don't include Charmy's and Vector's, Espio's is clearly gonna be mentioned.
  • Page 2
    • all01_e00* and all01_e01*: Characters calling out their teammates' names. Never heard these before.
  • Page 3
    • all02_h16ps_am, all02_h16ps_bg, all02_h16ps_ch, all02_h16ps_cr, all02_h16ps_es, all02_h16ps_vc: Team Rose and Chaotix explaining their Team Blasts, including their names. These can only be heard if you go into the final whale in Sonic and Dark's Seaside Hill.
    • all03_e00*, all03_e01*: Characters can get squashed under heavy presses, and they will be unavailable until you break it or touch a checkpoint. These lines are about the characters commenting on how heavy it is (supposedly after being crushed), and commenting on the fact that they have been waiting on the checkpoint. But these lines never play.
    • all03_h06*: Omochao gates. Looks like speaking or using a nearby Chao could open these.
  • Page 4
    • all03_h20*: The infamous bobsled control lines. While not unused, these lines explain that if the flight character is out, the bobsled won't be able to jump. However, when the flight character falls, the bobsled is destroyed. Still gonna add it to the page, as it's talking about an unused mechanic.
    • all04_e04*: Alternate "release me!" lines for the capture robots. Pretty sure these aren't used.
    • all04_e07*: Lines for when Gold Klagens take a character away; these are never mentioned.
  • Page 5
    • bos01_e07_eg, bos01_e08_eg, bos01_e09_eg, bos01_e10_eg, bos01_e11_eg: Eggman taunting, with an insult for each team.
    • bos05_h00*: Characters describing an unused mechanic. Can anyone confirmed if they even mention these lines? Basically, they say that the opponents will attempt Team Blast if all 3 of them are together. The reality in fact is that Team Blast is always possible, and if anything, you use it to bring back all 3 together.
    • bos06_h00*: Characters mentioning that if you destroy some robots, a cage opens, and you can use the item inside to get Eggman. I don't think there are any locked cages in Eggman boss battles, only in robot boss battles, but if that's the case, you can't get Eggman, so this mechanic goes unused. Can anyone shed some light?
    • bos08_h02*: These used clips only exist for Team Rose, and it's the characters mentioning that if you grab Metal Sonic's right arm, he'll shoot flames. ...How can you grab his arm?
    • bos09_e00_kn, bos09_e00_sn, bos09_h06_es: I don't think Metal Sonic has any invisibility power during the Super Sonic fight, yet these lines prove otherwise. Are they unused, or was I just distracted? I just read the Sonic Retro Wiki, and there's no info on any invisibility attack.

    • cty02_e01_ch, cty02_e01_es, cty02_e01_vc: Team Chaotix commenting about the lava room in Power Plant. This room doesn't even have the voice clip triggers.
    • cty02_h00*: Comments about some robots being linked to machines. I think these are different from the comments you actually hear, but can anyone confirm?
    • e0112_00sd, e0112_09sd: Leftovers from the Japanese version, unused in English.

    • oba01_h09*: Comments about a big room full of doors and a switch in Hang Castle or Mysic Mansion. Odd, don't remember this.
    • oba01_h12_am: "The trolley controls are the same as the bobsled. Make sure to dodge the ghosts." This is what Amy says in Mystic Mansion, but her voice clip doesn't exist. Does it exist in other versions?

    • sky01_h11_am, sky01_h11_bg, sky01_h11_cr: Team Rose's comments about landing on a battleship. These aren't the comments that are used.
    • sky02_h03*, sky02_h04*, sky02_h08*: comments about the fact that the rails bright up when a laser of the same color is about to fire in Final Fortress.
    • sky02_h13_am, sky02_h13_bg, sky02_h13_cr: Also in Final Fortress, Team Rose characters saying they should use Team Blast on the 3 largest robots.
    • sky02_w00*: Some final comment on Eggman's plans for every character, on Final Fortress.
    • sys02_*_oc: A lot of Omochao stuff when explaining menus. I don't know about you, but after accidentally pressing Y while in a menu once, I made sure I never did it again. So... can anyone who's more Omochao-tolerable figure out if all of these are used or not? Some look like they don't make sense.
  • Page 10
    • trn01_e07_ch, trn01_e08_ch: Comments that only exist for Charmy, in Rail Canyon. Does he need to go alone at some point?
    • trn02_e09_am: It's supposedly a comment by Amy after being shot out of a cannon in Bullet Station, but it's empty. Can anyone confirm if she says anything in another version?
    • trn02_e09_am, trn02_e09_bg, trn02_e09_cr: Then again, these are all unused, so...
    • I have the PS2 version of the game, and (besides the unused Mystic Mansion door comments being used in my copy of the game) in Bullet Station, sometimes if you fall into the duct hole and into the train-like part of the level, Amy says "Phew, that was something else", followed by Cream and Big's quotes. Hopefully that helps.

Anyway, I'll proceed to add the ones I know are unused to the page (tomorrow). The other ones, I'll leave them here so people with other versions or with sharper memories can confirm what's used and what's not. Also, I did a relatively thorough check around those pages at the Sonic Retro Wiki, but I didn't check one by one; I just went in groups. If you have a lot of time and a lot of Sonic Heroes knowledge, try reading the list again to double-check. {EspyoT} 20:44, 4 September 2012 (EDT)

No File:Sonic Heroes all03 e00 .ogg? :P Andrew Rae 16:52, 5 September 2012 (EDT)
Had forgotten to suffix an "am", for Amy. My bad, but everything's fixed now. {EspyoT} 16:56, 5 September 2012 (EDT)

Ok, I figured it's easy if I upload everything, and people can confirm what's used and what's not. It's better to find if something's used when you listen to it. The only thing missing now is the Omochao menu hints, which I'm still sure a lot of them are unused. {EspyoT} 16:56, 5 September 2012 (EDT)

The lines about "They'll use a Team Blast if..." etc. sound like they're referring to opposing team in the team duels, not the players. It's been a while, so does anyone want to check if the enemy team can revive their allies with Team Blasts? --Peardian 22:20, 5 September 2012 (EDT)
Nope, it applies to both the opposing team and your team. I tried in both single player and multiplayer: anyone can be "revived" if Team Blast is used by the remaining teammate(s). And either way, I haven't seen any hint orb or anything that mentioned those lines, so even if the mechanic was correct, I still think these lines go unused. {EspyoT} 07:56, 6 September 2012 (EDT)
Cream's A-rank line is definitely present in the GCN version. I'm not sure why everyone seems to think that it's not there. (I've mostly only played the GCN version, and I've heard the line enough times to know it's there.) ---GerbilSoft 01:15, 12 March 2013 (EDT)
I don't know, man. Knowing Sonic Heroes, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a random glitch that only affected some people. I guess I'll state in the article that the conditions for the problem aren't known. {EspyoT} 07:58, 12 March 2013 (EDT)

It's an issue with some of the ports. Some versions had that issue. Something similar happens to Knuckles on the character select in some of the ports. Knuckles gets cut off before he gets to say his line after selecting Team Sonic. The Gamecube version is one of the ports that doesn't have this issue. Sonic Retro actually mentions it somewhere on their wiki. Hold on a sec I'll find it again... Ah here's the page: http://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_Heroes_bug_list Glisp 17:12, 14 March 2013 (EDT)

I'm pretty sure the lines for the "Room full of doors" were used in the final game, in the room with just one door towards the start of the stage. --Tailikku (talk) 20:12, 28 September 2014 (EDT)
What stage? {EspyoT} 17:34, 29 September 2014 (EDT)
Mystic Mansion--Micpaws

Xbox E3 Beta

I have an Xbox 'Preview Disk' which contains demos and previews of then unreleased games, including the demo of Sonic Heroes mentioned in the article. Is this a good find? If so, I'll upload pictures. --Flamer (talk) 18:09, 13 February 2014 (EST)

Glitch?

I started messing around on the GameCube version and found that if you mash X and Y while trying to perform Team Blast, the meter will just empty and nothing will happen. I can't seem to find any mentions of this glitch anywhere else, so could someone check to see if it's version exclusive?--KirbyFan97 (talk) 12:35, 2 February 2015 (EST)

Possible regional or platform difference in credits

During the credits sequences, a music track with vocals (always in English) plays, and various pre-rendered cutscenes are shown to the side of the credits scroll. If I recall correctly, in the US GameCube version, only the music track is heard. However, when watching a Twitch stream recently, I noticed the voice clips and some sound effects from the pre-rendered cutscenes were also playing. This was on the PAL Xbox version. Initially I thought it was because the voices were set to Japanese, so the cutscene audio and music lyrics wouldn't conflict as much, but according to the streamer this happens when set to English as well. Maybe this is a regional difference (US vs. PAL) or a platform difference (GameCube vs. Xbox) or both. Can anyone provide additional data points? -2WaterGuns (talk) 13:44, 29 July 2018 (EDT)
