Hmmm...
To do:
Lots. This is just a start

Legend of the Mystical Ninja is a weird, comical action/adventure game featuring both overhead and side scrolling segments. This series lasted a fair while... and this was one of the only games in it released in the west.

Location Menu

The Legend of the Mystical Ninja location menu.png

When entering your house (location value $0000 in $7E0092), memory address $7E008E is checked for $0080. If true, the menu opens.

Use this Pro Action Replay code: 7E008F80

Instructions

  • A: change page (4 total)
  • B: move cursor down list
  • X: exit your house
  • Y: warp to location selected

While the warp works, leaving the location warped to gets you stuck on another map. It seems some initialization code is missing?

Despite the myriad of untouched Japanese food seen in restaurants, Nintendo of America saw it fit to "Americanize" only the two that could be stored in your inventory. The typical Japanese rice ball became a slice of pizza in the west.

Another type of rice ball was changed to a whole pizza.

The little field sprite used if the food is stolen by the weird robots in area 6 was also modified accordingly.

The 1ups found in the Secret Maze minigame had its Japanese characters changed to a question mark.

The inventory icon was modified likewise.
