アフターハルマゲドン外伝「魔獣闘将伝」　概要

　人類が地上に現れるより遥か昔、アトランティスとムーと呼ばれる２つの文明が地上を支配していた。高度に発達した科学文明を誇るムーの人々も「死」を乗り越える事はかなわなかった。
　そんな時、ラ・ムーと名乗る一人の天才科学者が現れる。彼は、人間の弱い肉体で「不死」を得る事は不可能であると説き、肉体を遺伝子レベルで変化させる肉体改造装置を開発した。
　人間を人間でないものにする事によって成し遂げられた『不死』……これが魔族の誕生である。
　「不死」の肉体を得た人々は、次第に人としての心を失っていった。魔族に変化した人々には、人間の姿が不完全で醜悪な生き物にしか見えなかったのである。魔族は人間を奴隷として使役し、奴隷の運命から逃れたい人間は、魔族になるしかなかった。
　ラ・ムーの真の目的は、人々に「不死」を与える事ではなく魔族による支配だった。彼は、魔族を生物の頂点と信じ、優れた者の世界を造りだそうとしていたのである。
　これに対して、肉体改造にあくまで反対するアトランティスのソル王は、アトランティス人の中から選びぬかれた戦士達に全てを託した。戦士達に与えられた使命とは、最強の肉体を手に入れ、ラ・ムーを倒す事であった。

　この戦士達が「アフターハルマゲドン」で活躍する主人公達である。

　しかし、戦士達の正体を見抜いていたラ・ムーは、彼らの記憶を封じ、本物の魔族にしてしまう。最後の希望を断たれたソル王は、全アトランティス人の命と引きかえに天変地異を起こし大陸を海に沈めた。ラ・ムーが滅びていない事を知ったソル王は、アトランティス人の精神体を十惑星を象徴する遺跡に封じ込め、ラ・ムーの復活に備えた。これが十神の遺跡の十王である。

　数万年後、人類が核兵器を持つに至って、ラ・ムーが待ち望んだ魔族復活の準備は整った。ラ・ムーに操られた人類は核戦争で滅亡し、核爆発の影響で浮上したムー大陸では、シェルターの中から無数の魔族が解放された。

　魔族たちは、核戦争を生き延びた人間を家畜とし、新たな地上の支配者として君臨する。やがて、魔族同士の覇権争いが始まり、各地で戦いが繰り広げられた。百年に渡る覇権争い「魔大戦」は、ヴォルザークによる『エクリプス』統一まで続く事になる。

Long before humanity appeared on Earth, two civilizations known as Atlantis and Muu ruled the land. The people of Muu, who boasted a highly advanced scientific civilization, could not overcome "death."
At that time, a genius scientist named La Muu emerged. He argued that it was impossible for humans to achieve "immortality" with their frail bodies and developed a body modification device that altered the body at the genetic level.
The "immortality" was achieved by turning humans into non-humans... this was the birth of the demon race.
Those who obtained the body of "immortality" gradually lost their human hearts. To those who transformed into demons, the human form appeared only as an imperfect and grotesque creature. Demons used humans as slaves, and those who wished to escape the fate of being a slave had no choice but to become demons.
The true goal of La Muu was not to grant people "immortality," but rather to establish dominion by the demon race. He believed that the demon race was the pinnacle of life and sought to create a world for the superior beings.
In response to this, King Sol of Atlantis, who was firmly opposed to physical transformation, entrusted everything to the warriors chosen from among the Atlanteans. The mission given to the warriors was to obtain the strongest bodies and defeat La Muu.

These warriors are the protagonists who thrive in "After Armageddon."

However, La Muu, who had seen through the true identity of the warriors, sealed their memories and turned them into real demons. King Sol, having lost all hope, caused cataclysms in exchange for the lives of all Atlanteans, sinking the continent into the sea. Upon learning that La Muu had not perished, King Sol sealed the spiritual bodies of the Atlanteans in ruins symbolizing the ten planets, preparing for the resurrection of La Muu. These are the Ten Kings of the Ruins of the Ten Gods.

Thousands of years later, when humanity had acquired nuclear weapons, the preparations for the revival of the demon race that La Muu had longed for were complete. Humanity, manipulated by La Muu, perished in a nuclear war, and countless demons were released from shelters on the Muu continent, which had surfaced due to the effects of nuclear explosions.

The demon race makes the humans who survived the nuclear war their livestock and reigns as the new rulers of the land. Eventually, a power struggle begins among the demons, leading to battles across various regions. The century-long power struggle known as the "Demon War" continues until the unification under Volzark's "Eclipse."
