Beat City is a Nintendo DS game definitely not made to cash in with the success of Rhythm Heaven. The inhabitants of Beat City had their rhythm and happiness lost to some evil corporation, but suddenly, a creature known as the Groovy Whale falls from the sky and finds the protagonist to be unaffected, thus, the quest to return the Groovy Whale to its home and to restore everyone's rhythm begins!
...Wait, wasn't that kind of plot later reused in a newer and familiar game?
MIDlet Manifest
Located in data/beat.cfg, is what looks to be the manifest file for a J2ME application. Judging by the developer's history of exclusively developing mobile games prior to this one, it's safe to assume that this game, somehow, relies on J2ME technologies.
