Climax Brighton was initially set up in Brighton, UK in 1998 as "Pixel Planet". The studio was initially formed largely by a number of former employees of Probe Entertainment.
Over the years, the studio was known by a number of different names:
- Pixel Planet. No games released under this name.
- Climax Brighton. Name changed and acquired by Climax Group in 1999.
- Climax Racing. Name changed to this in 2004. Studio changed hands and was purchased by Disney in 2006. [1]
- Black Rock Studio. Name changed to this in July 2007. [2]
The studio closed in June 2011.
