Formed in 1981, General Computer started out building unlicensed mod kits for arcade games. One such mod, Crazy Otto, went on to become Ms. Pac-Man, much to Namco's initial chagrin.

GCC went on to develop most of the Atari 5200's games as well as the chip design on the Atari 7800 before exiting the games industry and becoming a manufacturer of computer peripherals in 1984. They still exist today, impressively enough, as a manufacturer of laser printers.
