Adventure is released on the Atari 2600, becoming famous for its hidden Easter egg. Lunar Lander and Asteroids are released by Atari, with the latter displacing Space Invaders in popularity in the US. Shigeru Miyamoto starts off his long-lasting career and relationship with Nintendo in Radar Scope, which is a fairly large success in Japan but a smaller one in the US. The very first handheld console with cartridges, Microvision, is released, but fails to get any traction. Intel releases the 8088 processor, which becomes the first PC processor used in IBM's Personal Computer two years later.
