Cube World are small electronic cubes inhabited by stick figures on black and white LCD screens. The cubes can be plugged together so that the stick figures can visit each other to do all sorts of crazy things.

Test Mode

To access the test mode, hold the left and middle buttons on the front of the cube and press the reset button. This will only work on Series 1-5 Cube World units.

When the test mode is accessed, the game will display a series of LCD test screens which can be advanced by pressing the middle button.

The game will then display this copyright screen which is never seen anywhere else.

The third and final screen is an input test. The top-left number appears to be the series number (for example "21" is Series 1) while the letter at the top-right seems to indicate which figure it is from the series.

Interestingly, the order of Series 2's letters correspond with the Bandai release of Series 2, which had MIC & DUSTY and HANDY & HANS as opposed to MIC & HANS and HANDY & DUSTY. Series 5 skips the S and T letters, jumping straight to U and V.

The rightmost digit appears to display the current test mode which can be changed from 1 to 3 by pressing the three buttons on the front of the game. 1 continuously emits a tone, while 2 and 3 have an unknown purpose.

The small square represents the tilt sensor input and the small plus symbol shows up if any other Cube World units are connected. Pressing the left and right buttons simultaneously will display a small animation with a question mark followed by the ROM checksum (bottom number). Pressing all three buttons simultaneously turns off the game.
