In May 2009, Dance Dance Revolution Universe 3 was released in China, sporting a couple differences:
- DLC support is absent from the Chinese release.
- Both versions have an own share of exclusive songs:
A Fifth of Beethoven All Over Again Canned Heat Conga Dancing Machine If (Dave Audé Remix) Man With The Hex Midnight Blaze (SySF Mix) Over Return of the Machines (Radio Mix) The Bomb (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind) Watch Us Work It
Big City BU LA GE ZHI LIAN CLASSIC PARTY triathlon CUO ZAI CONG MING DI ER SHI DU ZHAO FU HUA LUAN SHI Hua Die Fei Huang Di Ji Xing Shi Kao Jin Ni NI BU SHI HAO QING REN PU GUANG SAY LOVE ME Shi Jie Zhi You Wo Men TAN CHEN CHI Wan Mei Wo Shi Ni De Shui Xia Ri Chu Ti Yan Yin Wei Ai ZHAO ZI JI
Among the referenced files there's 4 that make reference to an unreleased European version.
Oddly, the game works indistinctly in Japanese and US consoles but it's locked in the EU region. If the disc is inserted in an European console it shows as "Dancing Stage Universe 3" in the dashboard, but a "Wrong Region" message appears when attempting to start it.
