Konami GB Collection Vol. 1 is the first compilation release by Konami of their earlier Game Boy titles, featuring the following games:

This is also the only volume in the series that entirely consists of previously-released Game Boy games, rather than some rereleases along with some new ports of older arcade or NES titles thrown in on the later volumes.

Regional Differences

Title Screen

Konami GB Collection Vol. 1 is the only release in the series where the numbering was kept the same for both Japan and Europe. Although the title screen was redesigned for the European release like other volumes, the numbering was not changed.

Subsequent volumes would rearrange the release order, i.e. the Japanese Vol. 4 became Vol. 2 for the European release, affecting the numbering of the remaining two volumes. Thus Vols. 2 and 3 in Japan became Vols. 3 and 4, respectively, in Europe.

Super Game Boy Support

The Japanese version was released for the Game Boy with Super Game Boy support, which included custom borders and palettes. For the Game Boy Color version, released only in Europe, all SGB support was removed.
