Marsupilami is an action puzzle game based off the original European franchise, and not the Disney cartoon like some people expected.

Level Skip

Use the password UEYM to activate a Level Skip. When the game is paused, press A, B, C and Start to skip to the next level.

Unused Text

At 00xx25742 is Music Test, something which goes completely unused since Sound Test also contains the music from the game.

Regional Differences

In the year it took to release the game in the US, several changes were made, mostly to the earlier levels. The edits make the US version much easier than the European release.

The PAL version automatically opens the Options screen on the title screen after Start is pressed, whereas the NTSC version offers you the option instead.

Levels

Circus 1

The level was almost completely redesigned in terms of completion method. In the PAL game, players had to use the Steps, Mouse and Winch moves in addition to placing fruit on the floor to stop Bonelli and using water to put out a fire. In the NTSC version, all that is needed is the Steps movement and learning how to use the water to put out a fire. Although the Winch item was removed, the Mouse was moved and kept in the level, but has no vital role in completing it.

Circus 2

At the beginning of the level, the Pole Vault object was removed in the NTSC version.

Near the end of the level, the popcorn kiosk was removed in the NTSC version. The ditch was also shortened.

Circus 3

Some crates block the way in the PAL game, but these were removed in the NTSC version.

The Winch object was moved between versions.

Finally, the European version introduces players to yet another tail move, the Hammer. The item was removed in the NTSC version.

To move forward in the PAL version, Marsupilami had to grab the Hammer and destroy the barrels at the bottom of the level. Like the Hammer, the barrels were removed in the NTSC version.

An entire puzzle was removed in the NTSC level, making this level somehow easier than the first level.

In the PAL version, after breaking through the door, you need to get Bonelli onto a hut, then move him across two more, jump on his back, grab the spring, run to the end of the level and leap to the top hut then turn on the switch which releases the water. Finally, you need to guide Bonelli to the end with the water, and spray the fire.

In the NTSC version, after breaking through the door, you have to guide Bonelli through to the end and put out the fire. That's it.

Final Boss

Europe US

The bear trap moves around constantly in the PAL version. In the NTSC version, it frequently rests, making the final boss significantly easier.

Time Differences

A large amount of levels had different time limits. Again, the NTSC version made it easier by adding more time to levels.

Boss levels and bonus levels remain the same between both versions.
