So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Notes: We definitely need more screenshots. There cannot be this little of development information.
This cactus is UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
Notes: Find concept art if possible. Also make sure Discord links work please.

Terraria 1.4 was originally going to be a successor to 1.3.5.3 known as 1.3.6,[1] which eventually turned into 1.4.

Journey's End Trailer

The 1.4 Journey's End trailer[2] shows pre-release gameplay of the 1.4 update.

Dreadnautilus

How dreadful.

Dreadnautilus has an early and generic name, "Blood Nautilus."

Dreadnautilus Trophy

Re-Logic had trouble when considering what the Dreadnautilus was going to be. They considered making it either an event miniboss, or an outright boss [3] as shown with this trophy.[4] The trophy would be replaced by the associated banner in the release of the 1.4 update.

1.4 Early Gameplay

The 1.4 Early Gameplay[5] video by ChippyGaming, posted on May 6th, 2020, shows several minor differences compared to the final version.

  • The version number says v1.4.0 r021.
  • For some reason, the rarity of the Spiked Fledgling Wings is Red, compared to the final's Blue.

Baby Zombie Pet

In a message from Leinfors[6], there were plans to add a Baby Zombie pet alongside the Baby Werewolf.

Sprite Concepts

Concept sprites for the resprited Hallowed Armor. Interestingly, it appears the Hallowed Hood was drawn in the old style before the resprites, which could be why the Ancient Hallowed Hood exists despite being introduced in 1.4.0.1.

The Zoologist also had concept sprites made, which were later used as inspiration for her shimmered form in update 1.4.4
