This page details one or more prototype versions of Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution.

The trial edition of Phantasy Star Online Episode III was available to those who pre-ordered the Japanese version of the game. It has both Online and Offline play, but only a few stages are normally accessible.

Unused/Alternate Music

Several early versions of audio tracks can be found in the game data, in addition to unmixed versions of the title theme. None of these prototype tracks are used during the Trial.

Title Prototype Final
Lobby
Both the early and final themes are present on the disc, known as robby_b.adx and lobby_b.adx respectively. The bassline is notably missing from the prototype version.
Menu
The trial version lacks the tutorial music present in the final. The file menu.adx is present in the trial, and the song is similar to the tutorial music (tutrial.adx) from the final.
Scenario - Navigation
Both the early and final themes are present on the disc, known as event_n.adx and event_na.adx respectively.

Several files exist with incomplete pieces of the main theme used for the title screen and credits. The vocals and melody have not been mixed together at this point:

Filename Description Listen
PSO_MAIN.adx PSO Episode 3 Main Theme without the vocals mixed in
title-m1.adx Part of the Title Screen theme, without vocals
title-m2.adx Part of the Title Screen theme, without vocals
title-m3.adx Part of the Title Screen theme, without vocals
title-v1.adx Vocal recording for main theme (no music)
title-v2.adx Vocal recording for main theme (no music)
title-v3.adx Solo Vocal recording for main theme (no music)
title-v4.adx Solo Vocal recording for main theme (no music)

Several files exist twice, and the duplicates were removed in the final. This suggests that they were renamed at some point during development. The original files are usually unmastered versions of the music, where the volume of the entire track and sometimes individual instruments slightly differs from the used versions.
