This cactus is UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Elementary, my dear Cactus.
This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: What is the single tab under ‘Game’ supposed to be? I can’t tell if it’s a game or a downloaded file.
Cactus 2.0!
This article has just been started and needs the article basics added.

PS3-Prototype-0.85-XMB.png

The prototype XMB is updated from 0.83, including differences.

Differences

  • This version adds 3 new tabs, that being: Users, Game and Friends.
  • New navigation sounds.
  • The new icons were once again different from the finals, still having a mild gradient and feel.
  • This version adds 3 new Settings, that being: System Update, System Settings and Date and Time Settings.
  • Nothing is shown while on the Users tab, probably due to there being no system as a time.

Settings Differences

  • There is only 1 setting in System Settings > Button Behaviour, which was not in the final XMB.
  • Speaking of System Settings, the icon for it has a simplified PS3 console, drastically different from the final's simple block.
  • Surprisingly Date and Time settings seems pretty finalised, only missing Set Automatically.

Social Differences

  • Sign Up was in the Friends tab instead of having it's own tab (PlayStation Network).
  • Sign Up had an early icon, suiting better to the minimalistic feel of the menu instead of it being mostly 3D-esque along with the rest of the PlayStation Network tab.
  • Add a Friend and Message Box would still show up even if you were not signed in.
  • Add a Friend was different from the final icon, having a shadow of a tilted floating head.
