Gameplay Bugs
The title cards load in the game's graphics too fast, making this glitchy mess. This really only happens in Angel Island Act 1, since the surfboard's waves overwrite the title card graphics and the player's spawning point happens to be in an area where the intro data is temporarily prioritized.
When you walk away from Knuckles' intro, Knuckles' palette will swap to the first badnik palette. This is also present in the final, when Player 2, controlling Tails, carries Sonic towards the right. The sweet spot that swaps out Knuckles' palette for the badnik palette is also identical.
Whenever Tails gets loaded as a playable character or as Sonic's helper, Tails' collision with the stage will fall apart, colliding with the background tiles and getting stuck in most situations.
Usually, the waterfalls don't block your movement so if you play as Tails you can fly up until you get out of the screen and walk on up there to advance into the stage.
Whenever Tails hangs in the rope at the beginning of Angel Island Zone Act 1 this happens. If you jump off and keep flying with Tails, the game will eventually glitch some graphics in the stage.
Also when you hang on the rope for the first time the ring graphics get corrupted.
Whenever you get a 1-Up, after the jingle completes the stage music will be silenced, likely because of issues with the sound driver.
Try this at home in Carnival Night Zone Act 1: Bump into one of these bumpers and push against its bounce back.
Another object that will corrupt Tails' graphics when he tries to swing around it.
It seems this object's physics are messed up if you walk over it, but if you jump it'll work as intended.
