This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

The earliest prototype of Tetris, made in 1989 by Dave Edson. It seems to be in mid-development and lacks a lot of features.

  • Unlike the final version, the graphics are more simple in the prototype. On 256-color drivers, the colors appear well, unlike the final game.
  • The menu is a lot more simpler than the final.
  • The backgrounds are only colors instead of bitmaps, some which need 256 color drivers in order to appear correctly.
