| This page sucks. If you could make it suck less, that would be awesome. Specifically: Poorly formatted, a lot of missing files & a lot of missing images. |
Psychonauts is a cult-classic, underselling game about a psychic boy that infiltrates a psychic summer camp. Using several kinds of psychic powers, Razputin must try to stop the children's brains from being stolen. In his adventure, he'll navigate inside other people's minds and help them with their psychological turmoils. It's mostly humorous, but some small details may prove to be... incredibly terrifying. Some of them might have actually been considered too extreme, so parts of the script got left in the cutting room floor.
Li-Po Backstory Document
The Li-Po Backstory Document is a leaked backstory document accidentally placed inside the files of the Psychonauts Steam port.
Unused Graphics

Inside the game's main data files is a picture of a simple sound test background. At the moment, there is no known way to access a sound test screen.

A leftover splash screen from the end of a Psychonauts demo.

Milla's Orphanage Tragedy
There is an... unsettling room inside Milla's Dance Party, that, along with the nearby memory reel, reveals that the orphanage in which Milla worked with had burned down, with the children inside. There are sound files and transcripts about Milla living the experience. After you hear these... you can imagine why they weren't included in the final game.

Milla's Dance Party Cameras
Some scripted lines about the in-game camera, or some cameras in the party itself. The lines also reference rock stars, being a celebrity and a party that only opens for celebrities. Perhaps there was going to be a puzzle sequence where Raz and other PSI cadets had to prove himself of rock or music stardom to be able to proceed further.

| MITU043MI | Oh, some of these places can be so exclusive! | |
| MITU044MI | Anyway, I'm sure once you show them what a rock star you are, doors are gonna open for you baby. | |
| MITU045MI | You know I love you, darling, but you have to make the camera love you too. | |
| MITU046MI | In fact, you have to make all the cameras love you. | |
| MITU047MI | Being a rock star isn't easy! | |
| MITU048MI | I know you can do it! | |
| MITU049MI | Razputin dominates the airwaves! | |
| MITU050MI | I need rock stars like you at my party! | |

Milla's Dance Party Misc.
Some misc. lines. She seems to be conversing with a group of friends and discussing events right in front of her, so maybe the party at the end of the level was meant to have more unique (or just lots more) NPCs and look more like a conventional party. Since the party in the final product features the same architecture and similar level design philosophy from previous parts of the level, this may have been cut due to time constraints.

| MITU099MI | Which do you like better--spinach or onion dip? | |
| MITU100MI | You know, I was hoping someone would bring that spinach dip in a bread bowl thing to the party, but nobody did. | |
| MITU101MI | Then again, last time I had that, I walked around for an hour with spinach stuck between my teeth! | |
| MITU102MI | Hey, you two! Get a room! | |
| MITU103MI | Oh, thank you babydoll! So do you! | |
| MITU104MI | Yeah, yeah, yeah. Call me! | |
| MITU105MI | Hey you! | |
| MITU106MI | Hi there! | |
| MITU107MI | Oh, I'm so glad you guys could make it! | |
| MITU108MI | Yeah, isn't it? | |
| MITU109MI | Just throw your coat on the bed there. | |
| MITU110MI | What are you talking about? You look great! | |
| MITU111MI | Okay, that's definitely not Francois' wife! | |
| MITU112MI | Oh my. Are THOSE two back together? | |
| MITU113MI | No, no, no. Don't drink that. I saw someone put a cigarette out in there. | |
| MITU114MI | Yay, shake that thing, beautiful. | |
| MITU115MI | Down the hallway to the right! | |
| MITU116MI | No, no. That's a closet. | |
| MITU117MI | Now go mingle in the real world for a while. | |
| MITU118MI | And tell Sasha I say hello! |
Milla's Dance Party Dancers
There are a few scripts pertaining 2 cut characters. They both have the same lines, and the sound files use the same names, except that the high-pitched girl's files end with a B, and the lower-pitched girl's with an L. These don't even have subtitle text. Perhaps these were for a character with a split personality?

Late for Basic Braining
You can't read the message boards until after you've done Basic Braining. However, there is data for a board post that only exists before you can actually read it:
"If you're reading this then you're late for class! Report for Basic Braining immediately to avoid detention in the Geodesic Psychoisolation Chamber. --Coach Oleander."
PSI-Popper and Poor Guy
In the voice files for Black Velvetopia are two lines of dialogue attributed to Raz but spoken by a completely different person instead of Richard Horvitz. They were most likely used as demo lines for scripting. Interestingly, they seem to be misplaced, as the start of the used files for the level are 'BV' and voice files under a section labeled Common use 'GL'.

Higher-Pitched Snail Dialogue
The snails in Waterloo World have two versions of each of their sound files: the ones that play in-game, and the same lines pitch-shifted higher.

If I only had a brain
Among the audio files for the Brain Tumbler Experiment is a short sound bite from The Wizard of Oz of the Scarecrow singing, "if I only had a brain", most likely put in as a joke.
Unused Textures
Unused referenced textures have been left in with the main game.
For example, psychonauts\WorkResource\Textures\LevelTextures\SA_SashaBrain - contains reference64x64.tga, reference128x128.tga and reference16on256.tga, a simple checkerboard pattern.
Photoshop documents used to construct textures were also included in the game. For example, the Photoshop document GMen_Disguises.psd contains textures that are shown in-game, although the file itself isn't used by the game.
| To do: Add pictures of the unused textures. |
Oddities
Two-Headed Dad Monster
The Two-Headed Dad Monster's textures feature an upside-down pentagram on Raz's Dad's forehead, which is not present on Raz's dad before his transformation.
your name here
In the Collective Unconscious, located between Coach Oleander's Basic Braining and Lungfishopolis, a developer credit slide with "your name here" can be seen floating out in the void. The slide looks exactly like one of the developer credit slides, but with a different font not seen on the used credit slides.
