This is a sub-page of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom (GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox).

This game has many cut textures, as well as some oddities that were probably never intended to be seen in-game.

General

The follow are texture assets that are shared across different levels.

  • A placeholder texture that can be found in the files of almost every level. Strangely, there are some boxes in several levels hidden somewhere with this texture. It is also found in The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer, which Heavy Iron produced as well.
  • A texture found in most levels with a slide section.
  • An unused laser texture that says RAM.

Main Menu

The title screen and menu have many unseen HUD graphics from earlier in the game's development.

Early underwear health in an early screenshot.
  • Various 2D HUD elements that would later be replaced with 3D models.
  • Pineapple arrows that would later be replaced with 3D jellyfish.

mnu4.hip

  • A textbox border likely meant for signs, judging by the filename.
  • A small opaque bubble, purpose unknown.

Bikini Bottom

hb00.hop

  • Found in the prologue is a morning sky. the used version relates to evening meaning this was clearly meant for when SpongeBob wakes up and sees his house wrecked.

hb04.hop

  • Patrick's bed. Despite no bed being seen in Patrick's rock, the wooden section is used on the ladder.

hb10.hop

  • The door on the Rock Bottom restroom, curiously found in the Bikini Bottom Theater. Normally, it is part of the same texture as the restroom.

Jellyfish Fields

jf01.hop

  • An alternate blue textbox.

Mermalair

bc05.hop

  • While some of this texture is used for pipes, the spotlight button part is not used. It also uses the early button texture.
  • The Override Button seen on the HUD for the Mermalair does not display the "OVERIDE" label in-game. This is likely due to the word being misspelled.

Rock Bottom

rb01.hop

  • A purple rock texture.

Robo-SpongeBob

b303.hop

  • Found in the final phase of the boss is a texture for SpongeBob himself with muscles. The texture is actually used for Robo SpongeBob's eyes in that level, but the whole texture itself is never seen.

SpongeBall Arena

pg12.hop

  • A secret credits roll featuring the developer's in-joke names amongst each other. These were likely written by Gregory Ecklund, the Lead Animator (or "Lead Animosity", if you will).
