Unused Palace Windows in the Japanese version?

Given that the Fairy glitch isn't in the Famicom Disk System version, were their graphics even in the Japanese version or were they added to the NES release? LinkTheLefty 22:59, 30 June 2013 (EDT)

Given the fact that there were only two palace tilesets, I'd say they were added to the NES version. EDIT: In fact, I just checked the FDS rom, and the only palace windows I could find are for Place 1 (which in this revisions case, is for all 6 places) and the Great Palace. So their graphics weren't in the Japanese version. --Mariofan5000 (talk) 12:27, 26 August 2013 (EDT)

2003 Version

I distinctly remember the 2003 version having the "you have to stab items to receive them" thing.Geno2925 11:49, 29 July 2013 (EDT)

I know for a fact that the 3DS Virtual Console version requires stabbing to pick up an item. --AquaBat 12:18, 29 July 2013 (EDT)

Release date

Here it is:

Released in US: September 26, 1988
Released in EU: December 1, 1988
  • www.gamefaqs.com/nes/563487-zelda-ii-the-adventure-of-link/data -> EU: 26.09.1988 / US: 12.1988
  • www.zeldaeurope.de/spiele/aol/ (Mix of German and English, known as "Denglisch" in German) -> EU: 26.11.1988 / US: 12.1988
  • www.zelda.com/universe/game/link/ (Official US Zelda side) -> US: 12.1988
  • www.mobygames.com/game/zelda-ii-the-adventure-of-link/release-info -> US: 12.1988
  1. December 1988 is something different than 1 December 1988. December 1988 means it was released on some day in December, which could be any date between 1 and 31.
  2. Even if it may seem unlikely that the EU version was released first, that doesn't mean that the dates are switched. It could also be, that the EU version was released on 26 September/November, but in 1989.

With this sources it's December 1988 for US. 26 September 1988 should be the right one with this sources. -Quark3021 (talk) 21:43, 31 January 2014 (EST)

"Unused Graveyard Side-scrolling Area"

It's not unused, is it? If you go to the graveyard and start a battle there, the terrain looks identical the map shown here.

Although if it is different in some way, it should be noted the same graveyard spawns on water tiles. 2B-20-43-48-52-49-53-54-20-2B (talk) 22:42, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
