Mario Party is one of the first games that try to tie real-life friends into the world of video gaming. The success usually depended upon whether or not the game's owners had any real-life friends.
Pictured is a bizarre unused mechanic where the player's panel turns yellow and a large "NO GAME" sign appears. The game then goes onto the next turn with no minigame. If it's the last turn, it shows "GAME OVER" instead.
