Hoi, I'm Jo Li!

I'm a long-time contributor to this wiki and a lover of all things "hidden", "unused", and otherwise "inaccessible" in games. Hence why I'm here. Duh. I also dabble in ROM hacking, pixel art, mouse art, and music, but that's not really relevant to my profile here.

I also use a lot of en dashes (seven bytes) and ellipses (eight bytes) in my edits... which isn't very space-efficient when compared to two dashes (two bytes) or three dots (three bytes), which means that certain folk looking to optimize pages have to come in and clean up after me. I'm sorry... I'm trying to get better about that! Honest! ;v;

So, uh... yeah. That's all I got~

Regarding My "Fan Games" Template

  • What is this "Fan Games Template" you're talking about?

It's this thing right here.

  • Why did you make this template?

I made that template because I think fan games should be clearly and easily marked by the average user.

  • What's the big "controversy"?

Alright, so. Generally speaking, normal users like me probably aren't really supposed to make templates which are intended to be used across a wiki, much less make a template and then actually use it. I did not ask anyone's permission before I made it and I also didn't ask if I could slap it on appropriate pages. However, I should note that, initially, it was only on two pages -- both of which, I founded: Mega Man Maker and Mega Man: The Sequel Wars. It was later suggested to me that I add the template on other fan game pages, such as Super Smash Land or Sonic Robo Blast 2. So, I did. I even updated the template so pages which have gotten permission to exist are clearly marked as such. But, once again, I didn't ask anyone if I could do this.

  • Why is it in the Username space? / Why isn't it an official template?

I've said this time and time again during the editing process: I am absolute horrendous at Wikicode. It's no small miracle that the template works as well as it does in its current state, considering I cobbled it together from other template code. That being said, I want it to do specific things, but I'm not smart enough to actually code it to do these things, so I still consider it a "work in progress".

The plan, as of right now, is to leave it as a personal project and use it where appropriate. One day, however, I do plan to run this template by the big bosses and see if I can get it made "official". Or, you know, one of the admins might decide to bump it up to "official" status when I'm not looking, too. (Hah.) It's... functional enough. I just... I'm entirely not happy with it. I'll probably ask someone, somewhere, if they can help me get this thing working as I want it to, someday.

Thank you for taking the time to read through all of this, if you did.

Peace and love~

Numbers?

In loving memory of the Contribution Scores extension, broken during a MediaWiki update in 2020 and left behind.
