WarioWare D.I.Y unused graphics

How did you open/rip the graphics and what are the unused graphic's file names? --Hiccup (talk) 12:08, 8 January 2014 (EST)

Also, what pallte was it that fit the orange? --Hiccup (talk) 15:10, 3 September 2014 (EDT)

World of Warcraft page

Hello, I just wanted to ask if you'd be willing to move your WoW page to the main wiki-space. There are many other articles on the main-space that are shorter and contain less information than your page does, so I think it would be nice to move it there since there's currently no WoW page yet. For such a big game to not have a page yet, surprised me, so I think it would be well worthwhile to move it to the main-space. If you need any help doing so, please let me know. Thank you!

Bast (talk) 23:04, 8 July 2015 (EDT)

I guess I'd have to remove some of the notes I've put or put them in todo boxes, but sure, that does sound reasonable. To be honest, I'm not too versed in World of Warcraft private servers/server emulation, so having it in the main namespace would likely encourage more people to help. I've been able to get a Mists of Pandaria server working to test items with, but beyond that... Anyway, I just moved it right now. I was also surprised that a game as huge as WoW didn't have a page yet. Moof (talk) 04:07, 9 July 2015 (EDT)

WoW

I saw you were starting up a page for World of Warcraft and am very interested in helping out with the project. I also have a friend who might be willing to help as well. We have been digging into WoW for quite some time, with both official and private server experience. Do you have another way I could get in touch with you to discuss details? --LeveL20Sage (talk) 16:24, 20 July 2015 (EDT)

Ohayo. I can usually be found on my Steam account, I'm mostly always connected for the most part. http://steamcommunity.com/id/Moofs/ Moof (talk) 04:58, 21 July 2015 (EDT)

Battle net

Hello, i too would like to help you delve deep into the data of WoW. I can't use my Steam for the time being however, so can we be friends through Battletag? --Jetfire77 talk HEY! Why you looking at my secret text? Go do something productive! 14:24, 2 September 2015 (EDT)

Ofc! I don't really log onto it all that often though; I don't play much anymore, but probably going to try out Legion. My Btag is Moofle#1586. Moof (talk) 22:08, 5 September 2015 (EDT)

Chibi-Robo!

Sorry for messing with your page's formatting! I wanted to add translations and I find it difficult to edit pages that lack whitespace. I opted to directly transliterate the Japanese names in most cases. This is because I haven't played the game before and didn't want to assume a character's identity incorrectly, and also because I see that the debug room options in the overseas release use transliterated Japanese names. It seems that some of the English debug room options line up with the JP ones, so it might make it easier for you to match them. Do feel free to change my transliterations to the correctly localized names!

Also, when I wasn't sure about the translation of something, I put it in square brackets. If I have more context for those options, I can probably translate them properly. --GlitterBerri (talk) 19:09, 3 March 2017 (EST)

I'm really bad when it comes to page formatting, so it's no problem, and thank you. I was thinking of going and making a Notes page with the Japanese -> English localization character names either way here soon. Chibi-Robo! is probably one of my favorite GameCube games, so I wanted to make an actual article about it rather than just a small and boring page.
  • "レチック" refers to the utilibots in the Japanese version, robots that make bridges or ladders or teleporters to use. I have no idea what the pun is supposed to be, if there is one, of course...
  • "トイレックス" is the character Dinah, a toy dinosaur, and if I had to guess is probably a pun of "T-Rex".
  • For "クレイマークッキング", the only thing I can think of is a reference to the movie Kramer vs. Kramer - dad only starts cooking in the kitchen after mom says she wants a divorce.
  • "キメポーズ合格" involves a mini-game of posing in a superhero costume, so that's probably where "posing" comes from.
  • "ピーツ" is the damsel in distress during a sidequest (Her name is basically the same in the localization, Princess Pits.)
  • "くま やめますか?" Sunshine/Sampoo is a toy teddy bear, so that's probably where Kuma comes from.
  • "ミニふぁんの種育てる②~タンス練習" definitely is meant to refer to dancing practice in the context of the scene.
  • And as for "グワム", the only thing I can think of is a reference to WW2 and Guam. The sidequest involves helping a toy army and its commander get the bravery to start fighting the family dog again.
As for the others, I'm not too sure either. I went through the files looking for the text itself rather than just try to use my keyboard and a way to draw kanji, so I'm pretty sure it's all 100%. Moof (talk) 06:22, 5 March 2017 (EST)

Yoshi's Island DS graphics rips

Hi. How did you rip those Yoshi's Island DS graphics? I can't get anything to display properly in Tinke or Tile Molester. --Hiccup (talk) 16:29, 24 March 2018 (EDT)

I was able to get them by using Tinke to rip the files, then opening them up in TiledGGD. I'm sure there's a better tile viewer out there, though. Often the palette was located in the same file, near the end. Moof (talk) 21:00, 24 March 2018 (EDT)
Could you point me towards the settings I should use in TiledGGD? --Hiccup (talk) 06:31, 25 March 2018 (EDT)
Hmhm, it definitely differs for files that you want to look into, but most of them are:
Graphics Data
  • Format: 4bpp
  • Mode: Tiled
  • Endianness: Big Endian
Palette Data
  • Format: 2bpc
  • Mode: Linear
  • Color Order: BGR
  • Endianness: Big Endian
After that, I change the zoom whenever I want to get closer, and change the Skip Size for both the graphics and palette data to whatever will help me get a clearer image/better palette or to move up/down faster. You can check the Shortcuts for the hotkeys for the skip command. I don't really use any of the other settings much besides the go to offset. It's a limited program with what's visible without having to keep skipping down, especially noticable with the zoom command, but I like the interface.
Here's the settings on objcharacoin.arcz:
Looking into the file myself, I guess that the unused character coins actually *do* have animation... ty mwiki Moof (talk) 08:44, 25 March 2018 (EDT)

Re: YIDS Wii U

USA and Europe VCs are both their respective region's Revision 1s, but the code possibly differs (I might be ripping it incorrectly). Japan VC isn't dumped. --Hiccup (talk) 13:32, 14 June 2018 (EDT)
