Also known as: 1943: The Battle of Valhalla (JP)
|
1943: The Battle of Midway is the sequel to 1942 and an extremely realistic simulator of the real-life Battle of Midway, where a small plane collected power-ups while shooting down the entire Japanese air force and the battleship Yamato (which actually sunk in 1945 at Okinawa).
History really is written by the winners.

- The Japanese version is called 1943: The Battle of Valhalla, while the North American version is called 1943: The Battle of Midway. Although, this only appears on the game box, not on the title screen.
- The 4 on the title screen has a slightly shrunken base in the NA release. Also, 1987 was removed from the copyright, and a more elaborate Capcom copyright were added in along with "Licensed by Nintendo of America Inc."
