The elder statesman of portable gaming, this big grey brick with a hacked up Z80 processor and a blurry green screen effectively reinvented an entire market by making portable gaming something more complex than, say, Game & Watch. It became lighter with the Game Boy Pocket model, brighter with the Japan-only Game Boy Light and the later Game Boy Color model finally added simple, NES-level color support for developers to take full advantage of.
