Launched in 1982, NEC's PC-98 series of computers enjoyed great success in Japan and nowhere else until localized versions of DOS and Windows '95 achieved a foothold. It has a sizable software library consisting of 0.5% Policenauts, 1.5% Touhou, 1.5% RPGs, 0.5% ports of American-developed games, and 95% hentai.

Hey, they had to sell computers to middle-aged salarymen somehow...
