Also known as: Cuphead: "Don't Deal With the Devil"
|
Cuphead is a run 'n gun platformer with an art style reminiscent of the "golden age" of animation.
To do: Test levels, more graphics.

Debug Menu
A fully functional debug menu was left in the game. Simply remove the level0 file in \Cuphead\Cuphead_Data and rename level7 to level0. The game will now boot right into the debug menu. Difficulty, Weapons, Super, and Charm can be changed at will until a level is chosen. Clicking on a level will load it after a few moments.
Unused Title Themes
bgm_title_screen.fsb
A completely unique theme can be found under the name of bgm_title_theme.fsb in the files. It's a faster, more upbeat rendition, and the last "Cuphead" towards the end sounds very similar to the fanfare that plays on the overworld once you beat a level.
Cuphead, who gambled away his last dime, Entered a tournament to buy him time. If he can win his head will be sworn, And this was how the adventure was born!
MUS_Intro_DontDealWithDevil_Vocal_REVERSE.fsb
300px
Another unused theme named MUS_Intro_DontDealWithDevil_Vocal_REVERSE.fsb. If the name doesn't give it away, it's the title theme that ends up being used in the final game, but in reverse.
Placeholder Graphics
In the files for Cagney Carnation's fight, there are four images that are presumably placeholders for explosions.
Crudely drawn icons for all four playing card suits.
Additional crudely drawn images named "soulidle" and "windownun".
Two mockup screenshots named "_LINE-UP_COIN_CHALK_FINAL" and "alignment_guide" respectively.
A screenshot of the plane control screen was leftover, featuring Xbox controller prompts. The health bar UI is missing, and PINK isn't bolded in the final image. This image is named blueprint_final_guide (1).
A shrunken screen capture of the entire tutorial area, named descend_addition_guide (1).
Placeholder sketches of the devil are mixed in with the final artwork.
Cutouts of Jared Moldenhauer's head from this Gamereactor interview.
"jaredhead"; a completely new, and original character based on the images above.
Numerous rough sketches for a beet-themed enemy. The final game only contains the following evil vegetables: carrot, onion, potato, radish.
Unused Bosses
Pachinko
To do: Please improve this Information
Found in the debug menu, is a boss called "Pachinko". The boss's only attack is a non-animating flame that comes out of the boss's head. Throughout the fight, blue/black colored balls fall. This boss has a death quote, but the boss picture is missing. The reason why this boss was removed is unknown.
Light
To do: Can you also improve this Information.
Also found in the debug menu is a boss called "Light". The boss is basically a crudely drawn thing. This boss has no attacks. When the battle begins, cutouts of Jared Moldenhauer's head fly in a straight angle. This boss has no death quote. This boss was probably used for testing.
Card
And another boss found in the debug menu. This boss seems to be a crudely drawn card with a angry face wearing a crown. This boss doesn't have a hit box. The whole fight probably been a maching game. This boss is using the crudely drawn playing cards. This boss was probably used for testing or unfinished for the game.
DicePalaceTest
To do: Can you improve this information about the Test Level.
This test level uses a pixel grass platform, and cutouts of Jared Moldenhauler's head flying straight from the bottom. There is a white platform at the bottom of the room.
