So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
SOMETIMES I SEE A TEXT BOX AND I JUST CAN'T HELP MYSSDFGFFDHFGDJGGFSHGDFH
This page sucks.
If you could make it suck less, that would be awesome.
Specifically: A complete unorganized mess. No images, badly formatted sections, and speculations. This really need to be fixed or even redone.
This cactus is UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
Hmmm...
To do:
Add some information about Beta game files, and what about CD game files ?

Disney's Toontown Online was an MMORPG game by Disney VR Studio. To many people's dismay, the game closed on September 19, 2013.

Title Leftovers

Toontown GameLogo Pirates.JPG Toontown GameLogo XD.jpg
Inside the Phase_3 archive, there are leftover title graphics from Pirates of the Caribbean Online and Disney XD. This is because all three games (Toontown, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Disney XD) are all made by Disney and use the same game engine.

Unused Icons

This icon set appears to contain a cupcake icon from an early version, along with an unused yellow "left" button.

Photo Fun Leftovers

There are a few leftover graphics from the removed Trolley minigame "Photo Fun", located in the same archive as the Trolley Games. They are prefixed with either "photogame" or "photo_game".

Unused Sounds

Sound Effects

There's a few unused emotion sounds that are found in the phase_4 archive

Different Cry Sound

A longer version of the cry emotion sound. Probably scrapped because of how weird it is.

Taunt sound?

A file called avatar_emotion_taunt.mp3 in the same archive. However, it does not sound like a taunt, and more of a "running away" kind of sound.

Photo Fun Leftovers

Again, there are leftover sound effects from the removed minigame in the phase_4 archive.

Camera Zoom

Camera Shutter

Camera Instamatic

Unused Music

Trolley Song

It was originally intended for the Trolley, but ended up being unused, except in Parties (like The Big Boss).

The Big Boss

Hmmm...
To do:
Re-record this one for better quality.

300px Never appeared in the game, except in Parties. Its purpose is unknown.

Unused Text

news_index.txt

for now this is a text file used to help find the directory of the news content
it could in the future be used for indexing

This file is found in the phase_3.5/models/news/ directory and doesn't have any in-game purpose. It was supposed to help the developers to find the news folder.

Regional Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
Rip the Japanese voices and get translations.

The NPCs talk with animal voices, but in the Japanese version all the NPCs talk in Japanese.

Game Oddities

Manholes in Cog HQs

After Bossbot HQ was released, those curious manholes appeared in all Cog HQs. Many players thought it led to the rumoured "Cog Nation", but those manholes were for decorative purposes and as of now, it had no use.

Doodle Names

For some reason, when browsing the Pet Shop, the Doodle name will always will be "???" regardless of what species, colour and neighborhood you buy them in.

Unused Tunnel Acorn Acres

This infamous tunnel found in Acorn Acres was nothing but again decorative. Meanwhile, on Toontown Brazil's website, a post was made talking about what was behind that tunnel, saying that there wasn't any cogs.
