Title Screen
| Title Screen (International) | Title Screen (Japan) |
|---|---|
This game was known as "Disney Epic Mickey: Mickey Mouse to Mahou no Fude" ("Epic Mickey: Mickey Mouse and the Magic Brush") in Japan.
General Differences
Lighting
| International | Japan |
|---|---|
The in-game lighting is brighter.
Cutscene Differences
- The Mad Doctor's Lab cutscene is edited to not include the parts where the Mechanical Arm threatens Mickey with sharp tools. Instead, it skips straight to the plunger that the Mad Doctor uses to try to take Mickey's heart.

Unused English Dialogue
| Japanese | English Translation |
|---|---|
The Japanese version includes some additional dialogue that explains various controls and gameplay features. Oddly enough, these strings were translated into English, and can be seen by modifying the game's configuration to use English dialogue (an option not normally available in the game). Note that these strings are not present in any other language, and the game will render blank dialogue boxes in their place if set to anything but Japanese or English.
