...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

Painkiller: Black Edition is a rather excellent arena shooter game with some of the most wildest guns ever conceived, like a gun firing shurikens and lightning! The Black Edition of Painkiller includes the Battle out of Hell expansion which is basically a collaboration of cut content being released as a retail product. It also added some more cut content so that's just dandy.

Early HUD

Alastor Boss Icon

Alastor had a derp face as his boss health icon before being replaced by something which looked less silly.

Early Ammo Icons

Early ammo icons. The rifle icon is interesting as it may have been intended to be used in the cut Assault Rifle weapon.

Health and Minigun Counter

The minigun icon hints at an earlier rendition of the minigun/rocket launcher weapon.

Demon Count

Judging from the file name, it is most likely a graphical representation of how many demon souls you have collected needed to morph into demon form (which is replaced by a numerical counter in retail) or it's a representation of how many enemies you have killed.

Early Score Counter

Early HUD utilizing a transparent version of the "demon count" graphic. This version does not have a compass (instead replaced by a skull) and lacks the graphical indicators of what each number indicates (a star and soul symbol from left-to-right).

Demo Graphics

These graphics were used in the demo version of Painkiller. These are located in the Textures.pak/HUD directory.
