So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

Version Differences

Region Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
Better document the changes

There are a number of differences and changes in the translation process:

  • Lutz is supposed to be Noah from Phantasy Star, but they apparently forgot that they changed his name in the English version of that game.
  • In the Japanese version, the musician Ustvestia (he teaches you the MUSIK technique) is openly gay. While his hitting on male members of the party was removed (by changing "He looks cute!" to "He looks smart!"), he still charges less to each male party members.
  • The snare drum samples are much louder in the Japanese version.

Virtual Console

Hmmm...
To do:
Somehow apply and better document the patch changes.

The Virtual Console version of the game includes a plaintext ASM patch - complete with developer comments in Japanese - that is applied to the game in real-time. The patch changes the pallete of the cross on the Hospitals, and for some reason writes the ASCII strong "GREEN CROSS FIX" to the ROM.
