The 5th generation of Pokémon games starts with this pair of games on the DS. Set in the far-off Unova region (based on New York City!), they introduce a full set of new Pokémon; not a single older Pokémon makes an appearance before the Elite Four. Not even Pikachu. Yes, you read that right. It also has more of an emphasis on the storyline of the game.

Unused Items

Key items from Generation IV

All the key items from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl through to Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver still exist in this game. This includes the unused key items from Diamond/Pearl.

Apricorn-based Poké Balls

These are in the game for compatibility with Pokémon caught in Apricorn balls in HeartGold/SoulSilver. If hacked into the bag they can't actually be used.

God Stone

A gray-ish recolor of the Light Stone/Dark Stone sprite, with a stubby description.

Deru Power

Doesn't normally appear in the Bag.

Miracle Shooter power-ups

There are several items used only in the Miracle Shooter multiplayer battle mode. These items are temporary power-ups for Pokémon which are more potent than typical ones. If hacked into the bag they can't actually be used.

Poké Toy

Key Item version exists.

Unused Graphics

Among the few uncompressed graphics are logos for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, probably because Black and White were built on top of those games.

Unused fonts and text entry

There are a complete set of Japanese and English fonts; they look fairly simple and unpolished, and the hiragana font seems to have been freehanded with a mouse.

They can each be combined with a single palette and tilemap to form the following screens, presumably used to input text:

These graphics and tilemaps are present in both the Japanese and European releases.

Unused Sound Test Graphics

There are also unused graphics for what looks like either one hell of a sound test, or a whole sound mixer:

They have a single palette and two tilemaps:

These graphics are present in the Japanese and European releases.
