The first main-series Pokémon games in full 3D, Pokémon X and Y are set in the faraway region of Kalos and feature 72 new Pokémon (though only 69 have been acknowledged as of yet), a huge regional Pokédex separated into three sections, and brand new features such as Mega Evolution, giving Pokémon from previous games a new look, stat boosts, and the occasional type/Ability change for the duration of a battle.

Also, fashion and cafés. It is the equivalent of France, after all.

Revisional Differences

On October 25, 2013, a patch was released on the Nintendo eShop for both games. The patch contained update data for the games, updating the game to Version 1.1.

Besides "Version 1.1" being added to the bottom screen of the main menu, the patch fixed two problems:

  • In the original version of the game, a nasty bug occurred when saving on the Northern and Southern Boulevards of Lumiose City. When the player saves the game, the game may freeze, forcing the player to reset the Nintendo 3DS system. However, when the game is reloaded, the save data cannot be loaded. Along with fixing the glitch, the update supposedly repaired the corrupted save data for anyone who was already affected by this glitch.
  • In the original release, the filtering system of the GTS was bugged, and using certain filters would crash the game when confirming a trade.
