An early US title screen shot was featured in the August 1990 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, which more closely matches the Japanese title screen. It's currently not known whether the US or Japanese title came first; the game's development history is a bit murky, with the Japanese version not actually seeing a retail release until April of 1992, more than a year after the US version. Screenshots of the first stage from the same issue also reveal that the US version was still using the Japanese version's player and background palettes at this point.
