Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the critically-acclaimed 2010 sequel to Super Mario Galaxy, which was also a critically-acclaimed 3D Mario platformer that came out in 2007 for the Wii. Super Mario Galaxy 2 signals the first time a Nintendo console had two 3D Mario games as Super Mario 64 2 and Super Mario 128 were both scrapped. As with virtually all games, Super Mario Galaxy 2 has quite a bit of prerelease content. In fact, it was called Super Mario Galaxy 1.5 early in development.
