This page details one or more prototype versions of Densetsu no Stafy.

There is one known (dumped) prototype of Densetsu no Stafy; the iQue version, which was cancelled probably due to the Chinese government's ban on video games at the time. See also Prerelease:Densetsu no Stafy for other versions such as the Space World demos.

Bug Fixes

  • The demo glitch from the final Japanese version appears to have been fixed.

Below is a list of known bugs that were not fixed, and have been verified to work in the iQue version:

  • The Imadame glitch still occurs. This appears unchanged other than the 250 (256-6) unintended glitched HP graphics.

iQue Screens

Booting up the game loads a screen with details about the release such as an ISBN number, followed by the iQue logo. This is shared with other dumped Game Boy Advance iQue ROMs.

Cacti speak Japanese.
...But what does it mean?
This game has text or audio that needs to be translated. If you are fluent with this language, please read our translation guidelines and then submit a translation!
Notes: Are the characters next to START 按 and 钮(??)

The logo was changed and reads 斯塔非的传说 (Sitafei De Chuanshuo). Additionally text "START" with adjacent Chinese characters replaces the Japanese "スタートボタン" in the 'push start' prompt. The original Japanese game does not have English characters in the non-debug font.

Credits

A "CHINESE LOCALIZATION" header was added to both of the game's Staff Credits, with text "IQUE ENGINEERING". Additionally, credits text translates the title of the game into English as "THE LEGEND OF STAFY", rather than using the romanization "DENSETSU NO STAFY". This is one of the only times an actual English name was mentioned before the release of The Legendary Starfy, another being its mention as "LEGEND OF STAFY" on a movie poster in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga at the Yoshi Theater.
