This page details one or more prototype versions of Densetsu no Stafy 2.

SOMETIMES I SEE A TEXT BOX AND I JUST CAN'T HELP MYSSDFGFFDHFGDJGGFSHGDFH
This page sucks.
If you could make it suck less, that would be awesome.
Hmmm...
To do:
Apparently the Shocked Starfy glitch was patched in the iQue version? Confirm.

There is one known (dumped) prototype of Densetsu no Stafy 2; the iQue version, which was cancelled probably due to the Chinese government's ban on video games at the time. See also Prerelease:Densetsu no Stafy 2.

Curiously, 0xBC (version number) is marked as 01; so this may be a v1.1 revision of the prototype.

Build Date

Two small compile strings can be found at offset 0x14DEB0.

Japan China (unreleased)

Unlike the final Japanese version, it's unknown if there is an additional debug function to print it in-game.

iQue Screens

Booting up the game loads a screen with details about the release such as an ISBN number, followed by the iQue logo. This is shared with other dumped Game Boy Advance iQue ROMs.

Cacti speak Japanese.
...But what does it mean?
This game has text or audio that needs to be translated. If you are fluent with this language, please read our translation guidelines and then submit a translation!
Notes: Are the characters next to START 按 and 钮(??)

The logo was changed and reads 斯塔非的传说2 (Sitafei De Chuanshuo 2). Additionally text "START" with adjacent Chinese characters replaces the Japanese "スタートボタン" in the 'push start' prompt. This is a similar case to Proto:Densetsu no Stafy. Note unlike final Japanese Densetsu no Stafy, English characters are in the main non-debug Densetsu no Stafy 2 font as well, but unused.

Graphics

Stuff

Hmmm...
To do:
Add comparison images if necessary

Some changes were made to the Stuff (dress up feature, also known as Goods/Kisekae). This is mainly for converting Japanese text (as graphics) into Chinese, or one case of removing the Japanese text entirely (スタ; star) from the school swimsuit clothes.

Lovely's Shop

In the first Stage, Starfy meets Lovely again outside of her shop. The graphics of the shop were changed to alter the text from ラブリーのおみせ (Lovely's Shop) to 小甜甜的商店 (Xiǎotiántián's Shop). The font color is in pink like the Japanese version.
