There are dozens of sound files never used in the retail game. Some include full conversations, and many have generic voices that were to be re-recorded later. Several conversations in the retail version were shortened from the prototype.
Barney
This folder mostly contains reused sounds from Half-Life 1, but there are a few test sounds included as well.

Trans6
There's an unused audio file called "Trans6" that was later deleted in the final and is... frightening... It was later found to be a distorted recording by the Judica-Cordiglia brothers in 1963, which they believed to be a Russian astronaut who burned up in the Earth's atmosphere as she commented on seeing flames and feeling hot before asking if she was going to crash.
