Minecraft went into a multiplayer test period from May 31st, 2009 to June 7th, 2009, under http://www.minecraft.net/mptest. Public multiplayer would then be released on June 8th, receiving consistent updates until July 11th. The Survival Test phase would begin to take shape in development during August 2009, and officially being at the start of September 2009, effectively ending the update period for Multiplayer Test. 0.0.23a_01 would still be used as the main multiplayer build until October 27th, when 0.28 was first released.
