Cut intro
This was the opening sequence during the alpha phase. It was ultimately disposed of when both developers and players thought it was too tedious to sit through the intro everytime they opened the game client.
Unused Classes
There are three unused classes; Death Knight, Dark Collector and Munak. What is interesting though is that Munak is a female undead monster. Perhaps at some point you could play as Munak (female) and Bongun (male)?
These three classes uses a placeholder sprite. Death Knight uses the Knight sprite, Dark Collector uses the Sage sprite and Munak uses the Acolyte sprite. None of these classes have skills upon using the command @jobchange as they are disabled.
Death Knight also has a ranking system listed in the game files similar to Alchemist, Blacksmith and Taekwon suggesting that Death Knight and Dark Collector may have been a part of Taekwon extended classes at some point in development.
Unused Skills
| To do: Document them all! |
There exists a magnitude of unused/placeholder skills of various kinds including skills for the unused classes! They can only be accessed through hacks.
Day/Night & Weather System
In the game files, there are files for a Day/Night system, as well as a weather system. The system would cycle between blazing hot weather, rain, snow, day and night to apparently create conditions that would give players advantages in some situations and monsters would spawn at certain times of the day depending on the season/weather. There is a remnant of this system, though. (Specifically, the winter themes in Prontera, although the snow is a mere visual effect to the eye. While Day/Night/Snow visuals are intact, nothing actually changes upon activating them.)
Unused Animated Hair
In early development, the default hairstyles had animations to match the characters attacking stances. This feature was scrapped for unknown reasons; presumably due to the original lead developer and the artists leaving the team during the alpha phase.
Removed Sprites
| Removed | Final |

Pupa has an animation where it splits in two (!) when killed. In the final version, it cracks with a lot of green slime coming out of its shell.
Orc Warrior have a smoking animation in their spritesheet that was removed from the game. Strangely enough, the smoking effect still exists in game, but because their sprites for that action are missing, it uses the default standing position when taking damage.
Thief Bug (both genders and Golden variant) has a unused back animation where it gives birth to other bugs. Removed for unknown reasons, perhaps difficulty balancing?

Unused Monsters
Despite not existing and being implemented past concept art, their cards are still obtainable through the Old Card Album.
A werewolf like monster was planned to be in the game at some point. It may have been scrapped due to time constraints. Some people speculate that Werewolf may be a beta version of Atroce due to their similar apperances and attack stances.
Two unimplemented Kobolds listed as enemies, but not used. Kobold_4, Kobold_5, along with Soldier Deniro and Soldier Piere uses Chonchon as a placeholder sprite.
Alignment System
In development, the Alignment System was referred to as Temperament and Tendency and utilized the following 4 categories:
Righteous (R) - Have good morals.
Wicked (W) - Have bad morals.
Fame (F) - Well-known in the community.
Vulgar (V) - Obscure or easily forgotten.
The Temperament system was to be used to customize player character performance and would be accessible through a separate tab on a character's Status window. Points can be assigned to the categories in the Temperament window and players can assign alignment points to other players as well. Players can begin using it by leveling up their Basic Skill to Level 8 as a Novice. Depending on a player's alignment, they can increase their item drop chance and receive Tendency penalties and bonuses.
The Tendency of a guild depends on the overall statistics of the guild members' individual Temperament (e.g. if the majority of guild members were of a Vulgar Temperament, then the guild's Tendency would lean towards the V).
The Alignment System was implemented for some time with players earning "good" points for killing aggressive monsters and "bad" points for killing passive monsters. It was later taken out for unknown reasons, but remnants of the system's interface remained in the game long after the system was killed off. With the Renewal update to Ragnarok Online, the Temperament tab in the Status window was finally removed, but the Tendency box still remains on the Guild window. Whether a different alignment system will be implemented in the future or not is unknown. However, it can be assured the alignment system as originally planned will never see the light of day.
