Nintendo left several debug modes and can be accessed with the PAR code 03F06??.

  • 04 - Press L be on the final lap
  • 08 - Game crashes at race start
  • 10 - Item Debugger. Pushing certain buttons does something (?)
    • L - Green Shell
    • R - Red Shell
    • A - Mushroom
    • X - Star
    • Y - Feather
    • Select - Banana
    • Y + Up - Lightning
    • Y + Down - Ghost
  • 40 - Race starts instantly
  • 80 - CPU intensity viewer
