Regional Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
The Australian version has not been dumped. Document the regional differences for it when it has been.

Oddly enough, the Japanese version was actually licensed by Nintendo.

  • Copyright Screen: The Japanese version replaces the Tengen logo with the Altron logo.
  • Title Screen: The Japanese version uses a different font, which is in all caps, while the US version uses a larger font with both upper-case and lower-case lettering. Also, the Japanese version adds ATARI GAMES CORP. and TENGEN, LTD. while the US version only credits Tengen, INC. Also, for some strange reason, the Japanese version removes the registered trademark (®) symbol next to the game's logo.
  • Main Menu: Because the Altron logo in the Japanese version is larger, the Super Sprint logo and player select options were moved down.

Victory Screen

The billboard in the US version says TENGEN VISION, while the Japanese version simply renames it to ALTRON VISION. This applies in the Game Over screen as well.

Staff Roll

Hmmm...
To do:
Check if there is code for this screen to appear the Japanese version. Also, check if the Australian version has the staff roll when its ROM is dumped.

The US version has a staff credits screen that appears after watching the first demo. This was removed from the Japanese version, presumably for being too... American.
