Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers was Capcom's entrance to the next level of arcade gaming of not only making yet another entry amongst the vast amount of Street Fighter II iterations but also moving on to their next arcade system board, the CP System II (CPS-2 for short). It also most knowingly added four new fighters to the roster: T. Hawk, Dee Jay, Fei-Long, and Cammy, with only one of them really staying in the public eye.

Large and small name labels exist for "Sarah". Given that SSF2 notably introduced only one new female character, it could be assumed that this was an alternate name for Cammy and that it could've been either her early name or that it could have also been that her name was considered to be different between regions (ala Gouki/Akuma and Nash/Charlie) but in the end it remained the same everywhere.

Unused Hadouken Impact Frame

Following in its predecessor's footsteps, the new impact sprite for Ryu's souped-up and redrawn Hadoukens also disappears before its last frame of animation is shown.
Incomplete Cammy Animations



A kick animation consisting of three incomplete sprites exist for Cammy.

Also present are another pair of unused sprites which were eventually completed as part of Cammy's heavy punch. Interestingly, it appears that while work had begun on them, they would end up being abandoned in favor of tweaking the pose for the final sprites.

Due to a glitch, Cammy's ending abruptly cuts off the text on a certain part, although the complete text is in the ROM.

The missing part was restored in Hyper Street Fighter II, but with a comma instead of ellipses.

- Cammy's Shoryuken Motion + Kick and QCF + Kick moves are named Cannon Spike and Spiral Arrow in the Japanese version and Thrust Kick and Cannon Drill in the international versions, respectively. Dee Jay also has different names for his projectile attack (Slash! in Japan and Max Out! elsewhere). This change was also carried to Super Street Fighter II Turbo in their respective versions.
- Just as it was done with the localization of its CPS-1 counterparts, the Japanese version contains tips at the bottom of the Continue? screen to help improve your skills at the game but this part was made empty in International versions.

- In the Japanese version, each character has several different win quotes. In the international versions, the twelve returning characters only have their only win quote translated from the three previous games, whereas Cammy, Fei Long, T. Hawk, and Dee Jay have two win quotes.
