Unused Palutena's Guidance conversation
This a pretty strange one. Maybe an unused draft for Mii Fighters, or perhaps just a placeholder/error handler? --Missingno (talk) 17:41, 14 December 2014 (EST)
- Either that or for DLC fighters. Maybe they didn't want to record new lines for Mewtoo, or it's a worst-case scenerio thing? Like, if the VAs ask too much money, they'll just use this instead? Robotortoise (talk) 17:56, 14 December 2014 (EST)
- Why is this on Vocaroo? Couldn't the person who found this just upload an mp3? Who found this, anyway? And what's the filename and location? --AquaBat (talk) 18:09, 14 December 2014 (EST)
- Found it on reddit. Don't have any more info, figured I'd leave it on the talk page for anyone who can look into it before adding it the article. --Missingno (talk) 18:24, 14 December 2014 (EST)
- I have the original files ripped from the game. I can upload the unused songs as well as the unused Palutena's Guidances. I would also like to point out that there is a minor regional difference between the US and pal releases for the Guidance on Duck Hunt and the Koopaling alts. --Blazingflare (talk)

Unused Custom Moves
I have found two Youtube videos today, which claimed to show unused Custom Moves. At first, I was skeptical, but then I have noticed some functional moves, that are indeed unused. I have already posted those videos in the actual article. Now I'm awaiting further instructions. --MUGEN-tan (talk) 03:21, 6 January 2015 (EST)
- I am still extremely skeptical of this, and that section is pretty badly worded and full of typos, so I'm going to remove it and put the videos here (video 1, video 2) until some people that are more familiar with the game can offer their two cents. --BMF54123 (talk) 05:49, 6 January 2015 (EST)
- Ah, okay. If these end up being legit, then it opens the question as to why that was never finished. If it was because the 3DS hardware was too limited in order to have a third wave of custom moves, then I think we should then start to look more actively to what else went unused in the Wii U version just because the 3DS couldn't handle it. Who knows, maybe we even can find even MORE Ice Climbers leftovers, if more work was put into them in the Wii U version. --MUGEN-tan (talk) 05:49, 6 January 2015 (EST)
Possible Unused Music
Were there any songs in the 3DS version that did not appear in the WiiU version? I'm specifically asking about the songs like the Find Mii themes and the Mii Maker Remix. Because both of those are in the WiiU version's files. If they are unused, are they noteworthy? --Blazingflare (talk) 03:21, 15 December 2014 (EST)
- It's possible they will be used for the upcoming Miiverse stage, which will be completed and enabled with a future patch (like with Tournament Mode). --
Techokami (talk) 12:37, 30 December 2014 (EST)
Regional differences
I started a regional differences section on the main page and added a bit of info on the Palutena's Guidance. Most of the basic regional differences for the WiiU version are the same as in the 3DS version and need to be documented for consistency.
Here's all the Palutena's Guidance clips if anyone wants to upload them for me. I can't do it myself at the moment. They are in .WAV format. --Blazingflare (talk) 03:46, 15 December 2014 (EST)
Game Over?
Found another little number that goes unused. Not sure what it's for, possibly intended for losing in Classic/All-Star. Here it is. I didn't put it on the article because it hasn't been properly ripped. (A.K.A. It's currently only on YouTube) --BagelBoyy (talk) 13:21, 15 December 2014 (EST)
- It wouldn't be unused if it wasn't ripped from the games files. --Hiccup (talk) 13:26, 15 December 2014 (EST)
- I guess I should've worded that properly. It WAS ripped from the game files, but it's just only on YouTube. --BagelBoyy (talk) 13:30, 15 December 2014 (EST)
- The origin of these rips is crediar's thread on the HCS64 Message Board. If you want to convert straight from the sound files, you could download them from that thread. --Hiccup (talk) 13:33, 15 December 2014 (EST)

Exclusive Japanese Music Track?
I've got a request - can someone confirm if this is real? LinkTheLefty (talk) 11:13, 23 December 2014 (EST)
- DEFINITELY real. Composed by Keiichi Okabe, who also did the game's Dark World remix, and I've heard it in at least 1 gameplay video. No idea if it's still in the international files or not though, sadly :( Crashandcortex (talk) 12:16, 23 December 2014 (EST)
- Really? Darn. In that case, if it's not present or referenced in the International version's game files, maybe it was actually a last-second inclusion rather than a deliberate removal (considering the short window between the North American and Japanese releases). LinkTheLefty (talk) 13:27, 23 December 2014 (EST)
- I think it is present on the US disk as well. In ay rate, it actually replaces the spot that the english version of Ashly's song fills in the international copy of the game. -Blazingflare (talk) 04:42, 30 December 2014 (EST)

Interesting tidbit about the Trophy Rush music
Not really anything to put on the page, but one thing I found kinda interesting is this: The Trophy Rush music repeats the same theme around 40 seconds in, but look at this: it's actually two separate recordings! The waveforms are different, they didn't just loop that section twice in a row, they actually recorded it twice! Neat, huh? Robotortoise (talk) 23:38, 25 December 2014 (EST)
Onett rice ball
In melee and brawl, there's a rice ball that can be found inside the planter via camera hacking. Can anyone confirm/deny if this is also present in this version? -Superyoshibros 11:03, 29 December 2014 (CDT)
- I think you just answered your own question. Until we have camera hacking we can't know. It won't allow the camera to zoom in that far. Robotortoise (talk) 14:06, 29 December 2014 (EST)
Freakyforms music
Apparently there is some unused Freakyforms music on the disc not mentioned in this article. Torchickens (talk) 19:08, 10 January 2015 (EST)
- Do we have a filename or anything that can help us locate it? --AquaBat (talk) 21:45, 10 January 2015 (EST)
- Sadly, I don't know. In a RAR file of tunes found in the description of this video (in MP3; which is a possible conversion as I don't know the data structure of Wii U music files), it's called "Title (Freaky Forms - Your Creations, Alive!)", but that doesn't seem to be the real title, since other tunes according to this article have filenames in a different style. Torchickens (talk) 11:56, 11 January 2015 (EST)
- It's probably the rippers' best guess as to what the track would be called. I don't imagine the actual track name strings have been located yet. --Peardian (talk) 12:20, 11 January 2015 (EST)
- Oh. Well I found a list of (apparently) unused music, in case it'll be useful. Youtube video of "Name That Face" Torchickens (talk) 13:13, 11 January 2015 (EST)
- The main theme is "R38_IKI_MainTheme" ("Ikimono Zukuri: Crea-toy") and "Name That Face" is "R47_WPTU_Theme_1" (Wii Party U). -Einstein95 (talk) 13:49, 11 January 2015 (EST)
- Thanks Einstein. Torchickens (talk) 14:05, 11 January 2015 (EST)
- File names for the music. -Einstein95 (talk) 20:42, 15 January 2015 (EST)

Random Music Analysis
Not sure if this should go on the main page, but it's incredibly interesting.
Smash 4 Wii U follows the same music file naming convention as Brawl. However, Megaman completely replaces Metal Gear's "slot".
A - Mario B - DK C- Zelda CRS - Menu music, music for modes D- Metroid E - Yoshi F - Kirby G - Starfox H - Pokemon I - F-Zero J - Fire Emblem K - Mother L - Pikmin M - Wario N - Animal Crossing O - It's missing WAS MISSING IN BRAWL TOO P - Kid Icarus Q - Famicon ・New Series R - Game and Watch, Punch Out, DS, Other ・New Series S - Megaman USED TO BE METAL GEAR IN BRAWL T - Staff Roll, Kongo Jungle, Yoshi Island TEST1-5 - blank files? U - Sonic V - Pacman W - Melee X- Music from Brawl (So fitting as its called Smash X in Japan) Y - Only two tracks here: snd_bgm_Y05_SBX_BossSentouKyoku1 and snd_bgm_Y07_SBX_BossSentouKyoku2. The two boss battle tracks. Z- Fighter related tracks (winning theme music)
The track listing for the possible Palutena unused/potential DLC conversation (#52) comes before alts (Wii Fit Trainer Male then Koopalings). Sakurai has recently stated that Bowser Jr. almost didn't make it, and this is evidence to suggest that it's true.
Here is the transcript of the Japanese Palutena unused conversation. It has the same exact meaning as the English version: パルテナさま、あのファイターは誰ですか? データありませんね。この事があるでしょうか。 異世界から乱入者だろうか しかしも目的はただ一つ戦い抜いて勝率のみです!
Furthermore, there is a file: snd_vc_smashappeal_Angeland_JP_00000000 It's the same exact converstation as snd_vc_smashappeal_Angeland_JP_13_00000000 (Captain Falcon, Japanese), but it's a second longer. Potentially, Captain Falcon was the first guidance to be added. This is further evidence that the files were "cleaned" before release.
--PushDustIn (talk) 08:01, 20 January 2015 (EST)
- Pretty much every track that has come back from Brawl retains their song ID. (e.g. the SMB Ground Theme remix from the Mushroomy Kingdom stage keeps its ID of A01) --BSonirachi (talk) 09:50, 21 January 2015 (EST)
Patch v1.01 unlisted changes?
I've extracted the US version's update data, and it appears that other than the character parameter changes for every playable character, there's also an update to Wonder-Pink's trophy model and the Gamer stage. I'm not exactly sure why, but as soon as I'm able to I'll report if anything important has been changed. RandomTBush (talk) 15:20, 23 January 2015 (EST)
Leftover model conversion logs
After using a QuickBMS script to extract the game's main archive, I found these plaintext files in Toon Link's character files, Trophy Rush's stage files and the UI. Anyone is welcome to document about these on the Wiki page if they want to. RandomTBush (talk) 03:43, 26 January 2015 (EST)
Virus + Unused Emblem references
Found potential images of an unused boss: If someone could extract them, we can add them to the Wiki. C:\SSB4\ui\replace\chr\chr_00 chr_00_Virus_01.nut
C:\SSB4\ui\replace\chr\chr_11 chr_11_Virus_01.nut
C:\SSB4\ui\replace\chr\chr_12 chr_12_Virus_01.nut
Lastly... C:\SSB4\ui\replace\chr\stock_90 stock_90_Virus_01.nut
This strongly suggests that Dr. Mario was going to receive a stage.
ui_mark_db has references to rhythm (in the fighter section) and diary (in the stage selection). One theory is that the Gematsu Leak was correct, and the Chorus Men were originally planned. Diary is a potential reference to Swap Note, as the Japanese name is for the series is いつの間に交換日記 with 日記 being diary. However, nothing else in the files suggests that so far, and the actual textures for the emblems are missing. --PushDustIn (talk) 07:18, 26 January 2015 (EST)
- Here's the four images related to the Virus(es). The stock icon's definitely a placeholder. -- RandomTBush (talk) 15:52, 26 January 2015 (EST)
Thanks so much! I added them to the main Wiki. I have some other files that I'm interested in, but some of them will probably turn out to be nothing new. Are you willing to extract them? (Or teach me how to do it?). If so, I can either list the files or send you them via FacePunch. --PushDustIn (talk) 21:55, 26 January 2015 (EST)
The Brain Training emblem is still in the game. mark_30_braintraining.nut I'm really curious to see how that emblem and the touch generation model compares (mark_30_touch.nut). --PushDustIn (talk) 08:49, 27 January 2015 (EST)
- The texture format used for those files is quite different. I'll need to do more research towards converting those, but I can safely say that the "braintraining" icon is completely blank, seeing as the texture data is just the same few bytes being repeated over and over until the end of the file. Touchgeneration has something in it, though. -- RandomTBush (talk) 22:29, 27 January 2015 (EST)
