So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

Sega's Tetris for the Mega Drive was yet another victim of the complicated licensing issues that surrounded Tetris in the late 80s and early 90s. While Tengen fought to keep its NES version on shelves, Sega opted to pull its own console version (which had been planned for release on April 15, 1989) without making too much noise, and as such physical copies are near-impossible to find.

The game was eventually released as part of the Japan-only Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol. 28 on PlayStation 2. While the Sega Genesis Mini lists Tetris as one of the included games, it's actually a brand-new port of Sega's 16-bit arcade version.

Hold Down + C + Start at the Sega screen. The bottom row of tiles on the title screen (normally a border) will be replaced by the message "PROGRAMED BY NAOKI OKABE".
